but you could see what was happening and the direction.
And that seems to be the issue with us right now, you cant see where they are going, or what they are changing to achieve it, whatever 'it' is.
I mean we have made zero progress on the rush defence in what, 5 years? Why have we not tried to employ it, given our defence in that same period has gotten worse.

Sir Graham. Good Auckland Coach, went OK at Wales, learned a massive amount as Lions coach and became a supreme coach for the ABs for 8 years.
"Good" Auckland coach? He won the NPC four years in a row, then went on to win the Super Rugby title two years in a row. You are grossly understating his coaching at the time. He was a f**cking great coach and should have been straight to the ABs.
Then he left for Wales, and proceeded to immediately turn them around. They had eleven straight victories and was titled "The Great Redeemer".
He took a while to readjust to the ABs, but losing one semi-final did not at any time make him a bad coach. He had a record for his first four years that Foster would kill for.

That's why I don't remember that game.

@Frank Agree for some teachers but teachers involved in research (usually higher education) can get better. I suppose it is similar to going to a doctor/dentist who was trained 30 years ago and hasn't added any strings to his bow since.
You jest surely? Research makes you better in the classroom? My mate was ambitious and did his Masters in Education. What a waste of time that was!
The only advantage that doing the post-grad stuff does is what I said -- taking the time to do something different. That refreshes you just because it is something different. I took some time out a few years back, and just being out of the classroom for a while made me better when I returned.
A lot of coaches would be better off if they simply took a sabbatical every eight years or so.
I do think that coaching overseas is a massive help. It makes coaches see the game differently, and exposes them to new ways.

I've only ever been told about it, so details are very hazy to me.

Happy to see Nepo, Whitelock, Jordan and Havili back in the starting lineup. Like the bench too.

@Duluth Havili, RTS...
Has either played 13? I don't think RTS has. DH is a poor defender at 12, will be worse our wider.
JB?
-
ah, hi, yeah look i know we have spent a few days gnashing on a poor AB performance (and focusing on Origin) but
why didn't someone tell me ST was injured?
-
-
Oh fuck off. I've officially joined the death to Foster camp now.
Taylor has been shite, Sami has to have Covid/injury, right?
Scooter is not a 6 and despite the hype over his last two matches he's topping the missed tackles and turnovers conceded for the team. -
On the same show yesterday on Senz that gave the rumour about joe joining the Allblacks coaching ,
Also Mentioned there will be a massive debut off the bench this week.

has JB...empty cupboard was what I was leaning at....stay safe Rieko.
I would go for Jordie. He hasn't played 13 for a few seasons but he's started 8 SR games there
Asking to much of RTS on debut & Havili is still learning 12
