All Blacks v Ireland - 2nd Test

With the world cup, due to the draw, we will have to beat, probably, Ireland, France, SA. Last few years we're at 33% there, we used to have positive ratios against everyone. Not in the foster zone
All three of those teams will be pretty confident of a win against us, that certainly wasn't the case before.

James Lowe's headshot on Jordie Barrett is conveniently being brushed under the carpet too in many quarters.
Peyper only reffed one team.
Yeah the dirty fluffybunny put a clothesline on him in frustration after dropping the ball. 100% a penalty at least.

New Zealand prop Angus Ta’avao will attend an independent disciplinary hearing after receiving a red card for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 (a player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously) in New Zealand’s test match against Ireland on 9 July.
The player will attend a hearing via video link before an independent Judicial Committee chaired by Wang Shao-Ing (Singapore), joined by former player Leon Lloyd (England) and former coach Frank Hadden (Scotland).
The hearing will take place on Tuesday, 12 July. -

@MrDenmore I don’t think the World Cup is out of the question. It’s a tournament that really doesn’t have much bearing on what happens prior to it starting.
Teams that have made the final or even won it have had varied success in the year or two leading up.
And in these tournaments, unpredictable stuff happens that can turn for better or worst.
I’m more in the camp that there are too many factors at play to judge the here and now and equate that to success or failure at a tournament next year.
While you're right that RWC can be a bit of a crapshoot, the real question is whether Foster is the coach that is going to give us the best chance of winning it?
I've pretty much concluded that he's not. I fear he's Toddy Blackadder in Waikato colours - droning away in mediocrity and his shortcomings will only become fully apparent when a better coach takes the reins and we suddenly become really good again.
I'm ready for a Brendon McCullum moment - sack Fozzie, forget any process - give Razor the job, because I'm pretty sure he's got an All Black strategy in a box under his bed.
-
@Chris-B you have to wonder if Fozzie is genuinely concerned with things, or if he is happy with how we are tracking, then add in NZR.
If we lose this weekend, the blow torch surely goes on full, and the other thing, if we lose again, playing poor rugby, will stadiums keep selling out, that will hit NZR, and also does brand damage when we play Aus and cant even sell a stadium out.
Is Wellington sold out yet?

@Bones as I explained right at the start, I thought the rule was if a prop is off for a card and the team have to take a player off to bring a prop on dor a scrum, the player coming off for the prop, had to be a forward too.
As I've said repeatedly, how can the ref decide who plays where. That's a very bizarre concept.

@Dan54 It's a pretty harmless rant on the fern sort of rage mate, i wouldn't bother getting too concerned.
yep fair enough mate, I wasn't taking it overly serious, just my way of saying some are taking it to heart to much. We lost, and I was disappointed up to a point, but at back of my mind I think world rugby is in a good place when things like this happen, and hell I maybe even more disappointed if I was a Bok supporter (they looked a lot worse than us against a lesser team), but hopefully they are not too upset.

@Frank said in All Blacks v Ireland - 2nd Test:
I'd like to hear from Foster's most ardent defenders (Crucial you're so quiet mate) as to why he should stay on or what the Fern is missing?
Foster doesn't have defenders. There's just people that don't bitch and moan about the same old shit time and again and actually try and come up with something coherent.

I read that with disbelief. LF jumped to charge the ball down so the words around targeting the player by AR are just wrong. You wonder if these guys have ever played any contact sport. Everyone I have ever known braces for contact which involves protecting your chest. To the uniformed that looks like leading with a shoulder but that is just stupid. The trouble is all of this ends up about the result not the action. I have more issue with LF’s yellow card than AT’s red. AT had a responsibility to get low as tackler. No intent but still poor technique. For all their bending at the hip at scrum time some props seem to struggle to get this right when tackling - a learned skill. LF was trying to charge a ball down but with two guys running at each other. If he had caught the ball and the Irishman had taken his feet out while he was in the air, who would have been sent off?
-
@Bones seriously?
It wouldnt be the ref deciding it, if the RULES/LAW state if a prop has to come on for a scrum in that situation, the team must take off a forward.
As I said, as it appears it happens that way, I assumed that was a RULE/LAW not something made up by a ref, clearly I was wrong, it wasnt a RULE/LAW and teams have chosen to remove a forward, as there is no RULE/LAW specifying a forward or back go off.

Fuck me. Point me to the rule stating who is a forward. You dedicate front row replacements, that's it Nothing else You can bold the word rule as much as you like, but that doesn't mean the ref gets to decide if Ardie plays 12 or 8. Are you just being deliberately obtuse? Because that's my domain.

Sam Cane was pretty good, lots of tackling - he is just a harder-tackling Reuben Thorne though.
You had me until this. I can't let this slide. That was Rueben Thorne's forte! He was an immense tackler and extremely strong! One of the best defenders in NZ rugby history! I can't recall him ever missing one. His defence got him to where he got.
Carry on. -

Geez reprobate, calm down mate, lol. Can I make a suggestion, if comments or anything fill you with rage, perhaps you shouldn't follow the GAME. I would honestly not follow any sport that upset ne as it a pastime, I followed the game as a one eyed AB supporter etc for 60 odd years, but if it ever got me into a rage, I wouldb't bother!
FFS we lost a test, thought we played poorly and had our arses handed to us on a plate by a very good team, but notthing any sane person should get into a rage over! It's almsot like the shit that happened with death threats to John Hart etc after we knocked out of WC, we got some peole who really need help!
I would say the same to supporter of any team. Boks lost tp Wales for first time in SA on weekemd. Italy got beaten by Georgia, I would hope there supporters aren't getting into a rage tc. or it;s time to shut sport down. It
I'm not really sure why you follow the ABs? You don't care if we win or lose, and your default response to any poster doing analysis on the players and coaches is that they are just some random on the internet that doesn't know what they are talking about because they are not in the inner circles of the ABs. Which is just complete bullshit on so many levels, I just can't stand the "well the AB coaches know more than us so just accept their decision" posts on here, they add absolutely nothing to the discussion.
In what part of my response do you see me say I don't care if we win or lose, all I say is don't get upset, it's sport. And I will almost always say that people inside the organisation will know more than me, but thats a fact.
I really not arrogant enough to think I could even coach a test team, hell I found coaching schoolboy and senior club rugby hard enough, so pretty hard to yell to loud about how much better I am than any high level coached whether it provincial, super or test level. -
