Why not wait until after the final?
Foster confirmed he will announce a squad of 36 on Monday, June 13 in Auckland, ahead of the Super Rugby Pacific final.
Just in case Bridge breaks a tackle in the final.

A long-term Crusader picks his AB captain:
SENZ Breakfast co-host Israel Dagg has named his personal frontrunner for the All Blacks captaincy role.
Loose forward Sam Cane is the current captain of the national side, however, injuries have marred his time at the helm in recent years, prompting calls for his replacement.
While several players including Ardie Savea and Sam Whitelock have attempted the role, Dagg believes one contender “knows what it takes” to lead the side back to their former glory.
“Look for me, I’d probably go with Beauden Barrett if I’m going to be completely honest,” Dagg said.
“I’ll probably go with him just because he’s got a ton of experience, he’s got so much respect and mana in that team.
“You need someone that’s going to be able to (front up) when questions need to be asked, and he’s obviously a driver within that team so he’s got a big voice anyway.
“He’s the person that’s going to be doing most of the talking … all of the decision making out there and having a real connection with that backline (and through) to that forward pack.
“So if I’m going to pick the captain, mine would be Beauden Barrett going into the July series just because he’s played over 100 Tests, he’s got the mana and respect and he knows what it takes to play at that top level.”
With the July Test series against Ireland fast approaching, it will soon be known whether Cane has retained his position or if someone else has been handed the reins.
Just because you've got experience doesn't make you best choice for capt. If Beaudy is going to be the starting 10 I wouldn't put more pressure on him to be capt. We're not short of solid options - Whitelock, Barrett, Retallick, Ardie and even Smith.

- Whitelock - best option right now, provided his age doesn't make him fall off a cliff.
- Barrett - hard to know how the pressure of being captain will affect his game. I think his place is slightly safer than Whitelock.
- Retallick - major question if he can get back to being a safe pick in the team. Seems a bit of a joker, and what experience does he have as Captain?
- Ardie - decision making when he was captain last year was questionable. Did not work the ref' properly. Still the issue of his selection upsetting the loose forward balance, but I would concede he is pretty safe now.
- Smith - position is safe but is his personality right for it? No more toilet incidents and he might have a shot.

5. Smith - position is safe but is his personality right for it? No more toilet incidents and he might have a shot.no more?....wasn't it one incident 6 years ago?
since then he's been a in the AB's senior leadership group and captain of his super team, also meets my personal criteria of one of the first names on the team sheet so has to have a decent claim doesn't he?

@mariner4life dont judge, the plan might just involve letting everyone think we dont know how to handle it for 5 years!

It's the AB version of the Warriors 'we are the fittest we have ever been'.

that made me genuinely snort. Well done sir.
There was even a time that I believed that shit when teams spouted it in preseason.

Heading off on a tangent.
... what did Bryn Hall do to not be considered?

So Blackadder looks to be ruled out of the squad now. Will be interesting to see where they go. Either Jacobsen becomes the everyman loosie or in a show of innovation Cane does.
Akira to start with Cane moving to 6 later and DP coming on?For all the talk about BBBR no longer being 'BB' are we just assuming that Whitelock can lift further? Nothing about him screamed 'pick me' last night.
