I’ve stopped watching Chiefs games live. The weather is too good and its more fun to chill with my boy. I imagine that many will appreciate not having me lose it during every game 🤣

    How fucking good is Lord?

That line out take in the 23rd minute was sweeet.

How much better would the game be if you couldn’t attack the ball if a player is falling from taking a high ball?

That’s essentially the current box kick - attack the ball in the air and then if he catches it wait for the defending player to hit the ground then attack the ball. Cleaners have almost no chance.

Would tactics change if you couldn’t do that?

Nice statement game from Finau, he’s ideal off the bench for us right now.

Yeah sounds good to me - almost the same as when you're held up immediately after catching a kick - if you're tackled, the opposition can't steal the ball at the resulting breakdown (regardless of if it's immediately after catching or not and the immediate bit should be removed from the held up law too).

So essentially, whoever catches, gets a "free run" for one phase.

Lord looks to be the perfect replacement for Whitelock as our aerial lock.

Just watching the Chiefs game now and I was wondering how long it would take for Gatland to throw an intercept.

I'm sure that's the rage in Owhango.

Remember those mullets from Rieko, Mo'unga, Havili and DMac last year?

Lord and Vaa'i looking really good, Taukei'aho his usual self as well as his lineout throwing vastly improved. Looks like the Chiefs (and ABs?) have a lineout core for the future.
Don"t know why SBW, commentators, and a poster or two talking up the Chiefs 12. Never noticed him. Nankivell was good again though. He needs to do that in the big games.
Tahs vastly improved, they have the artillery to strike from anywhere. How good is their captain?

@Bovidae Plenty to celebrate in Owhango this year. Roy Roper, the other Owhango All Black, is closing in on the oldest age an All Black has attained. July I think. Yes, Lord is coming along in "leaps and bounds".

@ARHS It looks like Eric Tindill was the oldest AB, amongst many other accolades he held. He was about 4 months short of 100 when he died. Roper will be 99 in August, but is the oldest living AB.

I really didn't love those mullets either!

I'd like to see more of Pohipi at 12.

Watched in background but he looked a threat and passed like a certain 2015 AB.

    That’s because you didn’t recognise Poihipi’s name!
