Moana Pasifika vs Hurricanes

@winger You could be right about that and on reflection I could rate him in the jury still out on category but compared to B. Proctor he is a no brainer for retention on the glimpses we have seen of him. His inability to cement a starting spot at the Chiefs does also hold a slight question mark next to his name.

@crucial It was twice Im sure. Its not always easy to look great in a poorly performing team. Jordan has looked less than brilliant too in a number of games
Yeah, I don't see why Jordan comes into this at all. Jordie played and generally played like the only one out there that could see what was needed.
Blot on his copybook was backing up an error with the same thing by not adjusting. Maybe he thought the first was unlucky but it was proven that he should have been a bit more conservative the second time.
It was clearly the wind. Maybe there was a channel of wind right in that spot but he should have adjusted.
Hopefully a lesson learned. When you play with confidence as he does you can get sucked into being over-confident. -

I don’t think for a second that MP can beat the Blues on Tuesday but they have done a great job at strumming up support last night.
I hope they get a huge vocal crowd. That will encourage them a bit more.
Blues camp won’t be stoked at having a quick turnaround against them
Haven't MP said they not letting crowd into their games until after next week, worried about covid and Island community? If so I hope they revisit decision, as they could well have a great crowd.
They seem to have changed their mind as their social media is promoting ticket sales to the game.

bet the CFO got on the phone and ensured their principled stance got contextualised on going out of business due to lack of revenue.
Hopefully Tuesday night is a monster party at Mt Smart, with a triumphant Blues team and a good game to watch. -

In a way the game showcased many of the problems that we face at a national level. When the Canes weren't allowed to play the way they wanted to they were clueless.
The good sign was that players like JB realised what to do, which was impact at speed, running at gaps up the middle. Pity his teammates didn't follow suit. Are his team mates also supposed to miss touch from penalty kicks repeatedly?
It was two times in a spell toward the end of the first half when the wind got up. You could see the ball blown back in. The first I could understand (didn't know the ground, caught out by the wind) but to do the same thing not long after was a bit dumb.
Don't make out that he was doing it all game though.I know you'd rather have Jordan at fullback but running down another player to make a case for your pick is silly. Let's wait and see how strongly Jordan states his case.
IMO, from what little we have seen so far Jordan's talents are wasted when he is in the more structured spot. The guy is more an opportunist (and a brilliant one at that) than a creator for others.
Happy for him to be pushing Jordie though.Repeatedly = more than once. I'm not trying to mis-represent anything: it happened. The worst of it is that he did it twice in quick succession. Here's another saying: the definition of madness is doing something over and over and expecting a different result. Maybe it's actually arrogance. Or just stupidity. He doesn't strike me as being very bright based on his regular on field faux pas, dumb haircuts and McDonalds dining habits. Like I said, just when I warm to him again for the likes of his running lines, goal kicking and high ball takes, he goes and does something just out and out fucking thick, and I don't think I want that in the All Blacks.

McDonalds dining habits. I missed this. Is he a regular at McDonalds
edit Ok Remember now
You can dislike him but hes the only starting AB back we have

None of the Canes' 2021 ABs led that team from the front. Poor effort, but hopefully that was due to covid.
Only one (Jordie) was a regular starter. With Perenara like he had been out of action for a long time
I just hope the Canes can pick it up from here on. The need a lot more muscle in the team. Ardie back will make a big difference as he carried the team at times. They need a few more like him though.
I think the bLues win and Ardies form covers a lot of issues they have
-
TJ is a big part of the problem, too much headless chook stuff, putting pressure on all those around him.
I think the canes need to.start looking beyond him, he'd be better for them coming off the bench, just lacking in controlling himself and the game the way the canes need.
Big ups to MP for thier heart and determination, but I think if the canes were even a little smart they would have won that comfortably.
Far be it for me to defend Pickerill as a ref, cos I've banged the Pickerill is a poor ref drum for years now, but it is a shame that every thread has almost every other post is moaning about the ref.

Actually thought young Aiden Morgan while having a good run or two was a bit rash last night. IWhile being pleased for MP's win, and believing they played well, if the top couple of inches in team believe they have won game before start, it makes it hard to switch back on. There was some pretty ordinary use of wind in second half, almost as if they thought it was really worth points just by it being there.

Interesting article on Stuff today about Perenara's loss of form over the years. The decline started 2016 and the then went off a cliff in 2019.
Nice of the article to point out over and over again that he’s gone vegan.

“But my reasoning isn't against the local farmer who's doing something for their family, it's for those major corporations who are mass-producing meat that we don’t need that then goes to waste.”
Pretty easy to find ethically and sustainable raised meat these days TJ.
I think it’s more to do with being someone who likes to have a bit of a crusade. As for the impact of his diet, maybe Kat Darry has it under control but when he returned from Japan and being left to himself he looked like death warmed up.

Being Vegan in Japan is really fucking hard, so I'm not surprised that he looked like shit.
We hired someone (from overseas) who really struggled here as it turns out that she was quite strict vegetarian (much stricter than we thought). if you aren't prepared to be a fish/vego here and don't love Japanese food, it really sucks.
