How many NZ SR coaches have resigned because of bad results, since SR started? Can't see it happening.
Jed Rowlands.
Was it results? I thought it was player revolt?

Canes props were a bit lightweight tonite. Numia got pushed all over the place and Fidow and Mafileo seemed casual.
You've got to wonder at the rationale of using Fidow at LH when Mafileo can play there.

They have decided to play each this side this year to start

@crucial Holland is worse
Nah, Holland is a bad coach, but the Hammettuer was crap as a coach and near enough dismantled the franchise with his crap.
Yet they won after he left. This team would need a complete rebuild
The Canes have enough talent they just haven’t put their top side out yet.
Biggest thing for me was the Canes had three guys debuting and two guys coming back from long term injuries in that starting 15. Of course we are going to be disjointed.
Holland took MP too lightly when they clearly showed they have the talent to upset anyone. He should pay the price or step aside. It really shows how amateur Super Rugby still is when someone like Holland still has a bloody job.
That’s such a poor blame. Sorry but the Chiefs put 50 on MP with 18 players unavailable.
Everyone is playing with guys still coming into the sides or debuting.
That’s just a fact of life not the coaches fault.Yep. Holland should resign, this is an unacceptable result, unless you accept that your team is the worst in the comp. But the canes coaching team won't, there is no accountability, just learnings. And yes men on the board
I don’t disagree that the coach needs to take some blame. Just that blaming him for selecting who he did is misdirected. A Canes second XV should be able to win given the pool they select from.
If you are referring to players from Hawkes Bay, then most of them now at the MP were not even selected in the Hurricanes Development/B Squad or whatever the Wider Training Group is called nowadays.

I'm impressed that McRobbie was able to be right there in support. Some good speed(and effort) for a lock.

Look at the positioning of black numbers 20 and especially 4 in their efforts to provide protection for the ball carrier, who looks to be one of Holland/Larsen's pets in the black 10 jersey. What the hell was black 4 trying to achieve must be something out of a new coaching manual.

In the same way that many NZ players failed to develop their drop kicking game I really hope that the tackling technique isn't addressed.
Wales may have a chance to beat the ABs in the Autumn with 13 men on the park.

PUJ And Moorby pushed their case for a start moving forward. Not all gloom for Canes.
I don't mind PUJ and would like to see him with more game time, but I was disappointed with him in the lead up to the Morgan no try. The defender was starting to drift off PUJ and the inside tackler was a forward who was already getting left behind. He should have held off passing to his winger a fraction longer to see if the old 'show and go' was a better option.
Hopefully it was a once off. Centres need to nail these things.

Absolute garbage by the Canes{or is it Horrorcanes} especially against a side we should beat easily... we had most of the possession & territory, dominated the scrums, but made too many silly mistakes, also our ball carriers got isolated a lot at the breakdown gifting them the bloody ball.
Prinsep proved yet again what a passenger he is... over the years the Canes have had a lot of useless head coaches appointed to the franchise, the only good one that I can remember would be Boyd.

Well he can't have been much good when he coached Wellington to relegation in the NPC.

Pretty sure it was Earl Va'a that coached Wgtn to relegation... in the first two years that Boyd coached the Canes we got to the final twice, winning the 2nd one, also on both of those occasions we were the top qualifiers.
