M4L would definitely know this from his formative years too hydro11 so don't even bother arguing his expertise in this.
-

really? Why?

She can say thanks but no thanks....

Mel did pretty much all she could, looked embarrassed by it...now I agree Gayle comes across as an arrogant twat who doesn't really give a shit what people think and his apology was meaningless, not sure on your angle here.
-

He shouldn't have to but you judge him all the same ? I don't really get that....

So he's not the absolute first name but he still makes the team right ? It's a batsman's game so depending on which discipline you favour then it could well be Starc or him I'll give you that but saying he "just" keeps Warner out is ridiculous given what he brings to a team when on song.....which is often.

How do you not get that? It's pretty simple. I don't think people should be obliged to apologise. If you make someone apologise then you do not know whether or not they are really sorry when they do. I would rather people be honest. If someone is racist or sexist, I would like to know. That way I can choose to not interact with them. Gayle is clearly not sorry for what he did so he should not apologise. However, I think he should be sorry for what he did. He just isn't.

Have you seen Warner when he is on song? Warner is in far better form than Gayle. He has had a good IPL and would certainly be in any team on form. I don't think T20 is anything close to a batsman's game. Starc is so head and shoulders ahead of the next best quick bowler. A good bowler can make a huge difference
-

But not apologise though right ?

Back in 2004 I asked a hot barmaid out, she turned me down on account of her "boyfriend" who was the manager. I was understandably crestfallen however the blow was softened upon seeing her arm in arm with this bloke some months later which proved she was actually in a relationship with him and not just yarning to get rid of me.....

She may have been distressed though, should I have apologised ?
-

All of which are difficult to say when you are in a low power situation.
-

it is what he said and the way he did it that I think is dickish...plus it was just for the attention, if he was genuine about asking her out, I am sure he could have done it more discreetly.

It depends how you asked her out. Were the two of you alone at the time? Was she busy at work? Had you spoken first? How did you ask her out?
-

So it would be okay if Gayle asked her out in a way that wasn't dickish? If Gayle wasn't joking, it would be okay?

WTF? How are you a dick? Perhaps you should wait for her behind the supermarket until she finishes her shift. Yeah, that would be much better. Nothing weird about that.

It would take serious balls to ask a checkout girl out considering the odds of success are ridiculously low. It must be so terrible to be her. A guy thinks she's attractive and wants to ask her out. The swine. How could he do such a terrible thing.
-

These things are more difficult when you are woman.

You can do whatever you want. I'm just telling you what I think. I don't know where I have said that people should follow my code. Remember I was against Gayle being fined any money at all.
Further to what hydro11 and the moral crusaders are getting at in my situation I was a pretty big cheese at telecom. I wore a suit and had a company credit card. Not quite earning millions playing IPL but still way further up the ladder than a lowly hospo worker.

In retrospect I did abuse my power. Hugely. I'm hunting this chick down to apologise for the trauma of the last 12 years.
-
