You had Poison, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aeromsith plus more im missing.
All to be drowned out so to speak when Grunge came along just a few years later..
Not the Gunners. They survived the Grunge induced holocaust. Trouble is they broke up shortly after. Bon Jovi also seemed to hang in there. But Poison, Motley Crew, Warrant etc were destroyed basically overnight.
Don't forget Whitesnake!

Yes they were all the rage during Grunge....
I remember them being a joke in the late 80s. There was a backlash. Perhaps similar to that again the Bee Gees and disco. It all goes in waves. Look at those boy bands. -

Yes they were all the rage during Grunge....

Look at those boy bands.My recollection was people were always willing to join in with an ABBA tune, in the same way they did Khe Sanh, or Horses etc. It was just fun.
Boy bands seem to be cool for ~13 year old girls. There's a never ending supply of both in a near perfect market equilibrium.
