@mn5 This was in today's newspaper about Jamieson.
He still has the chance to be just the fourth bowler this century to reach 50 test wickets in nine or fewer matches. Pace bowler Vernon Philander (7), and spinners Yasir Shah and Ravi Ashwin (both 9) are the others.
Yeah I remember Philander having a ridiculous start to his career.

Anyone know if Southees injury is serious?
isn't he back out on the field?

Hip flexor. Not bowling now. This wouldn't have happened to Wags.....

Well it would but he’d just channel it into rage and bowl even better

Hip flexor probably no less uncomfy than a broken toe

Yes, disastrous
Lose toss and then lose a bowler.Like Perth.
We have enough batting talent to fight for a draw if need be though.
No, this isn't the type of pitches that will have a draw.
Unfortunately , looks like we will let India bat for about 5 of the 6 sessions that the pitch will behave.
It will get ugly, I'm afraid.

I’m trying to be positive

Yeah we are a bit fucked, the toss was absolutely critical, and we just can't afford to have a bowler injured in these conditions. Going to be an extremely tall ask on our batsmen to grind out a big total, going to need both Kane and Ross to come to the party.

Feels like Perth again

oh look, a big away test tour and something goes wrong on the first fucking day

Knowing our luck Timmy won't bowl another ball and the workload will fuck Kylo. Out batters will get rolled and confidence shot for the rest of the tour

Our luck? We won the test championship, hardly a fortune of bad luck

I think we’ve had some good luck lately, hard to do better than winning the test championship.
This is such a mid 2000s post about cricket, get with the times.
