Wales win by default again ,and this with the help of all 4 officials ..we all know who wins if this contest is 15 on 15 ..every red card win should have a ? Mark against it ..

Genuine question. Are you allowed to slap the ball down if your arm goes in a backwards direction?
As long as the ball travels backwards as it goes down it should be fair game

Correct

Well that was disappointing - just woke up and had to watch on the phone as everyone else here is asleep.
Just rewound to the red card. Under the current framework, not much argument.
The 20 minute Red card is now looking like a much better option, and don't know why it is not on this tour.
Guess I'll watch back and look for every single head clash that was missed. ๐ฌ
Rennie's year was a pass mark overall with 50% wins I think and a shit load of injuries. The problem is we are lacking depth that hopefully gets addressed in Super Rugby Pacific.

Odd game. Australia looked much the better side for most of that, but Wales got the win, just. I'm sure Wales fans won't mind a bit though.
I'm going to bet we made key errors at key times and eventually ran out of puff due to the extra man.
Wales were short of experience but still had enough to get there. Pivac lives on.

Getting a red card for that head clash just feel plain wrong, no matter how idiotic the laws are at the moment. Additionally, that happening in the 15th minute vs that happening in the 75th minute has extremely different outcomes, which is weird. Felt bad for Australia, only watched the last 20 minutes (plus saw a vid of the RC) and I dislike the way Liam Williams looks, so I'm sad.

Or maybe how many clumsy bastards get themselves carded on the day.
Called it ๐
Congrats to you and @MiketheSnow - a win is a win.

Weโve had back to back matches against 14, sometimes 13, and we still canโt create an overlap
Pathetic

knocking the ball down like that before the Welsh try should not be rewarded - no matter if it travelled marginally backwards. I think the benefit of the doubt should be against the "down-knocker" in these situations, as I feel it goes against the spirit of the game. So a penalty unless the ball CLEARLY travels backwards, I think everyone plays and refs like this already anyways. Wobs weren't very lucky with some decisions tonight, though

Rennie used the word "horrendous" to describe some of the officiating in the presser I'm told ๐ฎ
A frustrated man but it wasn't a good look. I expect that, instead of receiving his predicted apology, he'll be delivered, at minimum, a fine.
Lack of discipline ultimately cruelled the team. Could've still won despite the officiating, IMO.

@nta the Welsh guy couldn't even believe it. That says it all. He's probably still shaking his head in disbelief
๐ Tompkins shaking his head and having a chuckle right at the end of that clip. Probably getting called a jammy bastard by his team mates.

I don't have a problem with that card at all. The issue as I see it is how many views it takes for the TMO and the clown with the whistle as he attempts to justify it to the two nodding imbeciles masquerading as his assistants.
If you need to verbally go through a fucking checklist to arrive at a RC for that tackle, you shouldn't be refereeing at this level.

Well I just saw this... And I have questions...
The view from the near sideline shows it clearly went backwards.
