    Well done Waikato.

Literally thrown away - twice to Sullivan and at the final lineout.

Ah well, all good things come to an end.

well done Waikato, that's a hell of a win

They got a penalty with a minute to go - I assumed they'd run the clock and then knock it over in Refs time.

a lot closer than that in the end! Wow, back to back penalties could have been massive there

@chris-b i wouldโ€™nt be too down, when you consider the cattle you did not have at your disposal its pretty impressive and some of the young guys that the Mako have bought through means your always gonna be there or there abouts ..As a Taniwha supporter i will take solace that our only win of the season was over 2021 champions lol
Credit to Waikato though, they have had to introduce a lot of young guys and sense these 2 teams will have some great contests moving forward

    @steven-harris I'm not too despondent.

To be honest, some of our shit performances earlier in the season didn't really warrant us being champions again.

A season that will stand us in good stead for the future, though. Lots of young guys blooded.

Three-peat was definitely on though if we'd not thrown wild passes into the midfield!

    Merry Christmas Waikato!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Edit - and well done the Taniwha.

Another fitting final I thought. We sure sure spoilt in NZ rugby with the rugby we get at NPC level.
Waikato deserved winners in end, but it was bloody close.
I have to say I a real fan of Segner for Ta$man, I reckon he the best of young flankers around, if you watch him closely he a McCaw/Cane type 7 , I would not be surprised to see him in ABs in future!

    That was fun. I'm hoarse.

A good way to celebrate Waikato's centenary year to win both the men's and women's competition. ๐Ÿ†

Guys I'm fucking fizzing holy shit. The boys went through some hardship and got the W. Stoked to be able to go to the game. Managed to be in the highlights video and in some official photos. Proud to be a Waikato man tonight. โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

Congrats Waikato, I might get round to watching the match sometime during summer and I'm feeling the urge to watch some rugby.

My friends and I were talking about the joys of being a Waikato fan when leaving the stadium. We don't win the big prize very often, but just enough to appreciate it when we do. 1992, 2006 and 2021. That's a decent gap between titles. I've been lucky enough to be at all three of those finals.

well done Waikato, even if you managed to lose to the worst team in the comp on your way to the title, I expect it was that loss that rattled your cage into action ๐Ÿ˜‰

Me too. What a buzz. Each of those times was a special year with a new format.

It was a cool atmosphere too.

$9 a can opened up the ole wallet a bit but who cares in that situation. Was a very fun evening.

Book ended the game with beers at the Eastside which I haven't been to in a very long time.
