Wales v All Blacks 30th Oct NH Tour

LOL Blackadder ahead of ioane. Will be mental gymnastics on this forum explaining that one. The obvious answer that blackadder has played better recently will probably be down the list.

How many chances does TJP get, it's ridiculous.
Would have liked to have seen them give Quinn Tupaea a go at 12 against a good midfield. The rest of the team I'm happy with.
I reckon having QT on the bench is a big pointer to a plan to get him on for decent minutes. With Reiko on the wing there is no other need for a midfield reserve.
Probably a reward and chance to build on his good outing last week.
IMO Havili needs to be the squad's allround cover man. There to fill gaps from injuries, give others a break etc. He's a very good footballer but I don't think he is our long term 12 and he isn't our long term 15 either. -
I think Jacobson, QT, SB slightly unlucky but can't deny Blackadders workrate and commitment. They must see TV as a more impactful lock replacement going forward. I think TJP must be the luckiest selection after his efforts last week. One bonus is to have such competition in the team.

@crucial QT is not on the bench though .
Crucial's post and your reply could go in the Meme thread...

A few 'minor' surprises in there, but the big one for me is TJ, guess it's time for him to step up and repay the faith the coaches are putting in him.

Could well be his last chance. He's used to playing with BB and vice versa so I guess there's really no excuse if things go pear-shaped at 9/10.

baring TJ at 9 and savea at 8 this would be close to me best 15 so pretty happy

Congrats to Beauden Barrett.
Man he’s provided some highlights over his AB career. Is he a 10, is he a 15, who cares really, I’ve just enjoyed watching him out on the park and play with a pace and enjoyment that we haven’t really seen before. He’s been pretty durable too for a guy that is pretty slight in size and that plays with a fearlessness in defence.
Hopefully he and the team can make it a memorable one.
By the way are we doing the haka in the change rooms 😉

Yeah Covid protocols, no singing

@act-crusader wasnt it v Wales that was a kinda coming of age game for him when he was still 2nd fiddle to Cruden (I think)

Guessing they may be looking to see if starting calms TJP and lets him play to his strengths, rather than getting excited watching on the side-lines and trying too hard to "add impact".

Oh fuck, I missed that TJP was starting. Um, I'd like to change my calm post above to one of hysterics and fear please.

Partnership with BB swung it according to Fozzie.

Happy with Beauden starting and Mo'unga on the bench, but they need to give Mo'unga at least 20 minutes to make an impact. He's lethal in open play, but needs some time to get the opportunities to exploit.
Samisoni and Akira could also provide a real point of difference at the end of the game as well.
@antipodean I think you are right, they are hoping TJP will play a more settled game starting rather than trying to come on from the bench and try to make things happen to have an "impact". Also Weber coming on in the final 20 to speed the game up at that point could work well.

BB knows to be ready for a catch somewhere between ankles and overhead. RM expects the ball from knees to face.
