How the fuck was it Moungas fault, He had no control with TJ barking shit from
The base .He needed to demand the ball from that ruck and TJP give it to him. As I said play territory and kick into the corner with time nearly up. You know, like in the 2015 RWC SF.
FFS yeah blame the guy who was on for 15 minutes not the Fuck wits who played most of the game.
Mo'unga isn't the reason we lost, not in a million years, but the fact is a player like DC would have taken control of that last 15. Mo'unga didn't. We don't have a world class 10 at the moment and it hurts us in tight games like this.
Actually we lost game in first 25 of second half?

That was a pretty typical perforance from Beauden. The kick to Reece and the run to set up Savea's try were absolutely magic. He creates tries for us not many others can. He's an amazing footballer but not a natural 10, and in an arm wrestle like that it becomes apparent as you want your 10 to take control of the game.

@Chris
I am only talking about what TJP (mainly) and Mo'unga should have done from the scrum on halfway. Nothing more. Savea made a great run off a retreating scrum and then the percentage play was to kick behind SA and force them to run or kick the ball back. I certainly aren't absolving the forwards in that passage of play. -
@joan-and-mary hi , no I will die in Australia, on pension at the most southernly point of Africa doing self catering accommodation.

Tactics need to change. We need to know when to knuckle down and when to air it out. Can't forget the basics
Our tactics are poor. We offer nothing that forces the defence to make a decision. We don't carry strongly and bend the line.
-
Anyway, thanks all, the game thread was great value as always. Tough result but happy to give the Boks credit for really stepping up, when they play like that they are a bloody hard team to overcome.

Sometimes we do. But not nearly enough. JK commenting post match making good points. Young team, lack of experience, bad decisions, troubling set piece, one dimensional attack

Agreed. I don't want to take away from a Bok performance tonight that smothered us and dominated the source of our game; quick ball at the breakdown.

I think other than selection blunders our glaring issue is tight 5. Our props are all kinda average-shit and our locking stocks aren't looking great without Whitelock. Retallick hasn't been as good since he left.
For me Scott Barrett is better than Retallick at moment. More physical presence.

We kick into Bok 22 and it’s 99% we win.
🤷🏽♂️

Our tight 5 is not as good as the Boks 5. Work to do
Our tight five was 100 times worse when our subs came on.
Yup. Our forwards just aren't there right now. Lots of young guys, a few past their best. And they put it all together tonight

Don't think we played badly. The Boks were the Boks. It is an indication of where we are at. Plenty of growth and work ons needed. Onwards and upwards!
Agree. I posted last year in that positive and uplifting Foster thread, that there will be plenty of ups and downs over the next couple of years as the new coaching set up and quite a few new players find their way.
There were some really good moments in tonight’s game, but plenty of poor as well. Some good moments from the Boks too.
I hope we aren’t too down, I hate losing to the Boks more than any other team, but what I do love about rugby is that two very contrasting styles can produce such a close encounter like that. Steyn’s 50/22, Jordie’s ice in his veins goal kicks, we attack down the left side and seem to make metres, a bounce of the ball, an error, a lapse in concentration.

Do ABs train ball protection? Boks get one or two on knees or almost so.
