No ALB is a biiiig call.
FFS is he injured? thats a crazy call
Fucking nuts, right - leave out the best midfielder.
On the page it says the below, so probably injury:
In the backs, Rieko Ioane moves to centre, replacing Anton Lienert-Brown, who took a knock to his knee on the weekend. Sevu Reece moves to the left wing and Will Jordan comes in on the right wing. Halfback TJ Perenara also returns to the All Blacks matchday 23, as halfback reserve. All Blacks Head Coach Ian Foster said: “We’re all excited to be returning to Eden Park for the second Bledisloe Cup Test. It’s been a very ‘forward looking’ week. We were delighted with the result last weekend and obviously had some things that we had to work on this week so that has kept us focussed. Foster said there was huge motivation amongst the team ahead of this weekend. “We know that Australia will be disappointed with the result and will lift. It’s a do or die game for them. “But the Bledisloe Cup means a lot to us. It’s an historic trophy and it’s easy for people to take it for granted based on results in recent years, but throughout history it has been a hard Cup to win, so it’s hugely important.”

That makes more sense he's injured,That must be the reason,Or we are even worse off with these clown's than I thought.

ALB having a "knock to the knee" doesn't explain why a guy who isn't a #8 is playing at #8.
Or the plethora of Barrett's
But really, this is what we've got now, so lets hope they learned a few lessons from Saturday. Or you know, the French series just been.

I kind of wish they'd brought someone else into centre and kept Reiko on the wing since we finally got him back there.
I wonder how long Coles is out for?
Not too long, except age can weary them. He was running around before the last game, after he was withdrawn. Aumua must be pissed

Beauden wants to be a 1st 5 so probably isn't an option at fullback now. I'd quite like to see JB given a chance, only for a comparison.
I'm not expecting many changes in the starting XV but a few on the bench.
RI wants to be a 13 and is playing 11...
Beaudy had won world player of the year at first five, so is better there. Rieko set the world on fire as a winger. So not quite the same comparison, beaudy was forced to permanent full back, Ioane forced his way to centre. But beaudy had not had the time that Brodie got, I guess as ten is so hyper important. It's his own fault for going too Japan after RWC rather than staying and fighting tho
BB started as a fullback for the All Blacks, and had some of his best games there.
As for the Japan part, it's interesting noting the different attitudes to BBBR and BB doing exactly the same thing.
Yeah, I think they’ve basically told Barrett that he has to sit on the bench because he is not the incumbent, but he was only at 15 due to their request.
I hope that Mo’unga is as good as they think he is, because sitting a World Player of the Year out is a coaching call we have not really talked about much, yet.
The issue is kicking. I guarantee we wouldn’t be having this conversation if BB kicked like Carter but he’s flaky as fück. All that BS about his style of play is nonsense. He certainly has a much cooler head than RM. But when that penalty wasn’t awarded against the Lions I wasn’t sure he would have even gotten it over. That’s a problem. My solution would have Jordie take the kicks but I’m not sure if his kicking % is as good as RM?

Team here:
- George Bower (4)
- Codie Taylor (59)
- Nepo Laulala (32)
- Brodie Retallick (84)
- Samuel Whitelock (126) - captain
- Akira Ioane (5)
- Dalton Papalii (6)
- Ardie Savea (51)
- Aaron Smith (100)
- Richie Mo’unga (25)
- Sevu Reece (11)
- David Havili (6)
- Rieko Ioane (38)
- Will Jordan (5)
- Damian McKenzie (31)
- Samisoni Taukei’aho (2)
- Karl Tu’inukuafe (19)
- Angus Ta’avao (17)
- Scott Barrett (42)
- Luke Jacobson (6)
- TJ Perenara (69)
- Beauden Barrett (92)
- Jordie Barrett (26)
That's a shit team.
The loosies are close to being good, and our second row could be good if they can wind back the years.
Smith is world class and best in the world in my opinion.
Beyond that though, the front row is average (Taylor looks fucking tired and miles off his best), our 10 is yet to stamp his mark, the midfilders hardly know each other, and the back three is a huge bet that they'll play to their strengths and not constantly miss tackles and give turnovers.
We look really really fucking light in the backs with one weapon (Ioane) and too many playmakers (RM, DH, Dmac, BB).
There is no centre cover in that team either, I assume Reece, Havili or Jordie have to fill in if Ioane gets injured in the first minute.

It's hard with jordie percentage, as he takes heaps of long ones even when he is not the main kicker. For the canes when he was taking them all, it was 90s

Genuine question - who? Goodhue and ALB injured we're getting a bit thin at 13.
Tupea?

I would argue that Ioane is no longer much of a weapon at 13. The question is then who to put there. Furked if I know. Losing both Goodhue and ALB is pretty huge.
Not sure how DMac kept his spot after last week.

He's pretty shit there. We'd be better with PUJ in the team but I guess Ennor would be the obvious answer.
