All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe 1 Eden Park 7th Aug

Wallaby tries in the end saved us from playing with a player on the naughty chair. Advantage, new advantage, new advantage, try...
-
On Reece, he does work very hard, but he's also problematic - made34 metres, beat two defenders, was involved heaps, but also conceded two turnovers (highest in the backs), made 5 tackles, but missed 3 (shared highest in the backs with Havili).
Havili did well but apart from those 3 missed tackles (he made 12 to be second to Paps in total made), he also was penaized twice and conceded a turnover. Beat four men though, which led the team.

I'm still watching the last minute. Where the fuck is the yellow card?
Keep watching it comes soon.
Lol funny bastard 😉
Ha. To be fair there should've been one about five minutes earlier. Not a big fan of a try rubbing out what should be a yellow

What was the penalty count in the end, seemed like a very stop start game.
I think I heard 17-9.
I guess it makes it harder for people to say the Ref favoured us

Well it's better than Bledisloe 1 last year.
Win
A win still means something to the players, so I’m happy for the team and coaches.
The win gives us one hand on the Bledisloe and that is nothing to sneeze at.

ESPN has 18-9. Jesus.

Let’s see if Foster learns from his poor substitution tactics tonight? I doubt it.
Jordie to the wing - total waste of a sub. He was poor as a starting winger, what made Foster think he’d add anything to that position off the bench?
Subbing Akira who was arguably our best forward, smacks of a pre-meditated plan. Grow some balls and sub Ardie if he’s the least effective of the loose trio.
Then putting most of the bench on within a few minutes, lost all our momentum.
Oh how spoilt were we when our bench would come on and tear teams apart in the last 20.
sigh
-
I think that starting 15 is maybe 1 or 2 players away from our best 15, but some of our tactics leave alot to be desired.
Our disipline is getting worse, just dumb shit, not even close to 50/50 calls falling our way, just clear infringing.
Players dont look like they fully trust one another or the systems on defence, we had a great 20 mins where we played a bit straighter and simply, then we emptied the bench and let aus back into the game.

I like Ardie but he's best as a 7 against the top sides as far as I can see.

Postives: Smith still great, Paps awesome, Whitelock a good leader, Havili and AB beginning to gel, Bower better than expected.
And RM
That miss on defence means you can't say he had a good game. That was truely below AB level.
Good goalkicking and a well taken try (and almost set up a pearler) but that was terrible defence.

This is a pretty ordinary Wallaby team that managed to make a supposedly Rolls Royce All Black side look exceedingly mediocre.
Plagued by poor discipline and no discernible sign of a game plan (particularly after the subs came on), the home team looked formless, directionless and utterly lacking in confidence.
When you consider Foster took this team from the cream of five NZ super rugby franchises who beat their Australian counterparts in 23 out of 25 games in the trans- Ta$man competition, you can only conclude that the issue is mediocre coaching, or worse.
Foster, like Hilary Clinton, was given the top job simply because it was his ‘turn’. He clearly has no ideas, and judging by what we have seen so far, has failed to win the confidence or trust of the players.
My verdict? Dead man walking.

Shite Aussie goalkicking saved our arses tonight.
Sliding doors
It really is, because looking at the overall stats, the Oz team was overall a bit better (except for the lineout).
They had 54% possession and nearly 60% territory, with 4 clean breaks to our 3, 8 offloads to our 3, higher percentage of ruck wins, and fewer turnovers conceded. They tackled slightly better than us too (86% versus 85%) too.
We had 21 defenders beaten to their 19, and we smashed their lineout (100% versus 83%)
