@nostrildamus lots of roads and not many cars!
you mean Australia? Cycling in most places outside maybe of Canberra is a masochistic deathwish.
Not in Brisbane. Heaps of those bloody cycle paths. Still doesn’t stop the Lycra clad piston wristed gibbons from using suburban roads.

Modern Pentathlon is weird, I like the combination of running, swimming, shooting and fencing, but why would you have riding there, when the athletes are randomly allotted the horses - way too much luck involved. The German leading athlete has just lost her almost guaranteed medal because she couldn't get the horse to work, and she was crying her heart out before and during the attempt.

The chance that your horse has already been taken for an earlier round by a worse rider who has barrelled through several fences.
Although the event is based on an officer escaping from behind enemy lines and stealing a random horse.

@rancid-schnitzel where I lived in Brissie, cycling on bike paths earned an immediate ute-chase from unemployed bogans. In 100% humidity. Great times.

@nostrildamus I miss my ute.

I got roped into the uni MP team after one guy broke his leg falling off a horse, as I could ride well. Ended up doing two MP competitions having hastily learned basic fencing technique. It is a bit mad, but awesome awesome fun. @Rapido the horse draw is an absolute mind fk alright, you only get to sit on it for 20mins and have a couple of warm up jumps before you're up.

Did anyone watch the Heavyweight boxing final? The Russian Gadzhimagomedov got beaten 5-0 by the Cuban la Cruz.
I will have to find a replay.
Nah, don't bother with the replay. I just want to hear you say that bloke's name again! That was a dead set cracker!!!

Where and when was that? I live in the western suburbs and there are dedicated bike paths all the way to the city. Would be perfect for running but nope we’re banned. Cyclists are well looked after here.
