Shami looks the pick of the bowlers after just 2 balls.

I am thoroughly enjoying the superb sky coverage unlike most of you other ferners. Great variety of interesting commentators and I can replay and fast forward to my hearts content. Hugely trying batting conditions with Shami moving the ball so much. Can't see us scoring fast enough to set India a tough ask to bat out. But we can still hope.

    Watching this - I'm pretty happy India doesn't have a 4th seamer!

Tough times - but, it always gets easier if you can hang in there.

Nasser agreeing about playing two spinners.

Rossco gloves one just wide of Pant for four. A bit unsettled and has a swish at the next one.

    Head down Ross!

Batting looks ridiculously difficult out there. As does keeping!

The pitch still looks like it requires disciplined bowling to get a good reward. It may just be a case of hanging in there until there until they lose their length a little bit. CdG went to the cleaners the one poor over he served up.

Steady as she goes until the second new ball IMO - then maybe look at starting to push things a bit more with the harder ball and two hopefully set batsmen.

yeah, it speaks to the quality of both sides bowling attacks and also their batters skills that the top guys have faced a lot of deliveries with a low strike rate and yet have still had very few off track deliveries

Further to this, I'm confident that the next two teams on the rung might have a fair bit of trouble in these conditions - the Aussies because they like to get bat on ball and keep a reasonable run rate and England, well they are not a top 5 Batting line up - their bowling attack is what keeps them in the results

13 overs so far for 15 runs.

Extremely slow going, must be extremely difficult alright. Perhaps India are in the box seat with runs on the board.

If somebody gets out, its only going to get worse as well.

@rotated 13 overs from the seamers so far.

A spinner can't be far away, because Kohli can't risk bowling his seamers into the ground early.

Bryan Waddle (Newstalk ZB) giving the Indians heaps for their terrible over rate. Described 13 overs for 16 runs in 65 minutes as "abysmal", can't say I disagree.

Didn’t we have an over rate at one stage during this very test of just over 11 per hour?

Gave his wicket away after fighting hard to get set. Annoying.

    Taylor now gone.

Anyone still fantasising about scoring four runs an over and setting aggressive declarations for the final day...

The way the pitch is playing our best bet for quick runs is almost Southee or Boult farting out a quick 25 in edges and agricultural swings.
