@toddy Absolutely cannot remember a single adequate performance by Frizell, whereas Tuipulotu had a great game starting against australia in 2019, and some good performances off the bench.

Still has underperformed at test level.

Anyway, thanks for some good replies @Toddy, it's been good to get some energy in the AB selection thread.

Who were the ABs playing when Clarke dropped the ball on the goal line?

Argie in Newcastle (final game) from memory.

@bones Well those all those times he seemed to have an attacking player covered but ended up grasping at thin air were definitely some kind of magic performance.

Frizzel put in a motm performance against Argentina in 2018.

He wouldn't be my AB blindside but I think his performances are comparable to Patty. Stands out at Super level and has struggled to make the step up.

@toddy When he ran down the sideline, had no physically dominant collisions, and Argentina were cack? Pull the other one.

It even has safe in the title.

His impersonation of a revolving door here was pretty astonishing though.

@toddy Pat T, has really underperformed at test level though, given his ability to smash big players, especially south africans in super rugby. Has to be something mental.

Thought he was okay in early bled tests last year.

@mn5 I like how Ralph doesn't even bother to turn and chase as he knows there's no point.

Ralph was a safe Maori boy after he went to the Crusaders ... which was weird because he was a flair 7s player back in the day.

You’ve mentioned that countless times but I never tire of hearing it 😉

Tuipulotu would be one of the best exponents of front of lineout steals in the country, has made a few pearlers off the bench for the AB's, but really does need to bring the bully into test rugby, he'd be fantastic off the bench if he can bring that too.

@toddy Fair enough, but you know that he got a lot of love on the Fern from people other than me or @Duluth when he was not performing at all ... 🙂

@bones Maybe he needs to be focussed on just playing 30 or 20 minutes or highly aggressive footy?

Lomax shouldn't be in the team full stop.

Out of interest, who is the next tighthead prop off the rank?

With Tu'ungafasi injured, Alaalatoa ineligible and Tokolahi off overseas, it's someone flying very low under the radar when they're missing out to Ta'avao and Lomax.

It's presumably someone like Irish Ollie or Marcel Renata?!!!
