That’s a bog average looking All Blacks squad.

Forwards are actually not too bad, but that backline… 🤮

Midfield - let’s hope Havili and Ioane don’t get hurt.

3 fullbacks and only 2 wingers selected, which means we’ll probably see the worlds slowest winger locked into 14 for the season again.

    Where are the strike weapons?

@higgins bring back Sid…!, I reckon if Fakatava had not been injured , there’s your number 2 moving forward under A Smith right there

Feel sorry for Faingaanuku Ross and Robinson. Felt all 3 earned it. Pressure will be on Ennor Bridge Lomax De Groot Akira and Blackadder to deliver.

I'd say the pressure should also be on all the loosies to perform. Super form does not equal test form. Aside from Ardie none are established test players.

@chris would love to see Sam Nock head to the crusaders , he would thrive in the environment.., has a much faster pass than either Bryn or Mitchell .Mounga won’t know what to do , he’ll have so much time ..

Would like to see that myself. He is a lot like Smith if you really look at his game.Kicks well great pass and his running game is there he just needs the chance and confidence to know he can have a crack.
Not sure On Enari. the Crusaders maybe looking for a young HB to develop, unless they go for Young Luke Donaldson from the Academy I expect he will back up Drummond in the NPC.

I not upset with Tupaea, think he may have a future in Black. ALB only misses first test I think.

If Lomax and Ta'avao are the backups, we'd better hope that Laulala stays fit.

@tim just lucky the opposition for this squad is weak, which will paper over plenty of cracks

What an underwhelming squad. Pretty lucky to only be playing Fiji and Tonga first up. RC might get ugly if there are any further injuries.

For the loose forwards, it must have been Blackadder vs Robinson. I would have chosen the latter as he offers something different but Plumtree seemed to like the fact Blackadder could also play 7.

Happy for Quinn but he was as surprised as the rest of us. As mentioned, PUJ suffered from a lack of opportunity.

Christie, Ennor and Bridge should buy a lotto ticket tonight.

Finlay Christie will be the next subject of bitter press attacks from up north in their next tirade on poaching. I appeal to the NZRFU to rescind that particular selection to appease those upset about blatant poaching.

    I'm worried he'll get capped.

Why in a team stacked with blindside flankers isn't Big Red selected?

How is it we have so few fit props? The two competent ones make Owen look like a young Jones.

    Christie
    Mounga
    Bridge
    Tupaea
    Ennor
    Barrett
    McKenzie

Nice knowing you bro, good luck with your implosion.

    The stuff of nightmares.

You could roll out an AB less Super squad and still squash Fiji and Tonga by bucketloads. Made with the proviso the I. Foster has nothing to do with the coashing.

Hodgman, Ross, Grace, Robinson, Faingaanuku, and PUJ will be smashing opposition players in NPC.

@bovidae Ennor and Bridge - I mean, at least Faingaanuku showed something on the park. Sure Bridge and Ennor have been selected before, but not like they've absolutely blown everyone away - they've been ordinary mostly.

@chris , the other thing is , now that Christie is an All Black , how much game time is he really going to get at the Blues .?.and you are very astute, he has one of the better passes both ways and in my opinion one of the better high kick games in the country .and is a bloody good defender ,.he’s getting totally screwed at the Blues , have heard he’s looking at a move ..the Saders would be an awesome fit , look how that panned out for Bryn Hall .

The worst selection IMO is Christie. Great liability, but he's obviously only there because TJP and Fakatava aren't in the squad. He won't be in the Rugby Championship squad, when TJP returns.

    Blackadder comes in for Grace.
I think it was between Robinson and AIoane for one spot; I'd have preferred big Red, but it is what it is.

Tupaea is probably only there because of the absence of Goodhue.

De Groot is there because Moody is injured; Ta'avao or Lomax benefit from Ofa's injury.

Many of these selections are injury enforced.

My concern is which of them will the Muppet Collective drop for the RC? Because Australia can put together a pretty competitive 23.
