Hurricanes 2021

@canes4life And Caleb Makene? Unless you're only talking about experienced SR players. He's spent all season with the Highlanders and I think his switch to 10 has been a success. Unlucky with his injury, preventing him from getting more than one cap.
-
@stargazer i'd prefer Lincoln McClutchie before Makene.

From this page (which is updated regularly) this is who the Canes have signed so far: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2021–22_Super_Rugby_transfers_(New_Zealand)

@canes4life Oh I totally thought he was on his way out
-
Players that I expect will pick up contracts - taking the squad number to 31
Jordie Barrett, Ardie Savea, Gareth Evans, Danny Toala, Isaia Walker-Leawere, Pouri Rakete-Stones, Xavier Numia, Tyrone Thompson, Cam Roigard
-
@machpants he may have asked for a release possibly...

The other 9? Taumateine or Campbell?
-
@canes4life yeah I agree but can see Holland being his stupid self and giving Taumateine another 2 year contract.
-
@mikey07 I wouldn't be surprised at all.
On a side note - I know it was the last game of the year and the Canes non-playing reserves probably deserved to let off some steam but I felt some of them were a little off their game professionally in the Chairman's lounge on Friday night. I won't name names but a few of the boys were smashing back the beers and grabbing more rounds than everyone else in the lounge. I just thought it was a little off when there were kids around who were keen to have a chat with them.
The notable ones were guys that I don't think will be in the squad next year so maybe they were drowning their sorrows.
The only guy I spoke to was Gareth Evans, he was probably the only Hurricane who made an effort to yarn with members in the lounge so for that reason alone I hope he gets a contract for 2022, which is highly likely.
-
@canes4life I have a fair idea of who they would be.
-
@canes4life sign of a great team culture there 🙄

@LABCAT Likely join big brother at the Blues.
Would the Blues want him?
Sullivan looks like he has a lot of potential and Tuivasa-Sheck is also joining them next year, doesn't seem like they need to recruit another fullback.
