On a side note, is anyone else sick to death of everyone in the media trying to speak Spanish (excuse my ignorance if it's not spanish) by calling the Jaguares the hugyouworries?
Sounds very 'try hard' if you ask me, what's wrong with calling them the bloody Jaguars'?

Because they're called Jaguares and they're using their Spanish name? The Sunwolves are using an English name, so no problems there. I think it's a matter of respect to try to pronounce their name in their own language if that's the name they're using.

What's wrong with saying it properly? It's not that difficult

Try being a Scots fan, the day a Southern hemisphere commentator actually pronounces Sean Lamonts surname properly will be the day they beat the All Blacks. It's "Lament" as in "they're gonna be left to Lament the fact they're not better rugby players" not La-Mont. He plays for the Haggis, not Garlic, Munchers.

And in other news a rare photo of Israel Dagg with his mouth closed has sold for big bikkies at Christie's latest auction.

Glad to have him back, despite the naysayers he's a step up from Volavola.

The opposite actually, I like that they weren't lazy gits and went through the effort to learn it.

I guess thats the issue, it 'appears' it is in fact quite difficult the many ways I have heard the comms/media say it.

Most of them are pretty close. The missus is Mexican and has no problem with they way most of them say it.

Though I still stand by my comment that they sound a bit try hard when they're pronouncing it. As TR says there seem to be many attempts at saying it correctly, but to me most come across as very awkward.

Good to see Dagg back in the park too. He's almost the forgotten man of NZ rugby isn't he? It'll be a huge job for him to get his black jumper back with Ben of the Smiths the incumbent, DMac lighting the competition on fire, then there's Barret and NMS who are also not bad 15s.

Excellent, will be good to see Ben Smith back in his rightful position on the wing while Israel "The Boot" Dagg reclaims his number 15 jumper that was so cruelly taken off him last season.

I am with you on this one Gunner. It almost makes me cringe when they try to pronounce jaguares.

I have to be honest , first time I heard it , I had no idea why or what they were saying , then I worked it out ,

Doesnt bother me though , particularly if that is the correct pronunciation.

Just curious , how are the Aussies pronouncing it ? im not imagining Kearns and co pronouncing it like that .

The Mrs is of the opinion of "at least they are trying to say it properly, and most of them are pretty close"

It's not as though the Argies call the Blues "los Azules" ... they still call them the blues because that's the teams name.

Anyway back to the rugby. Looks like a the Jaguares have brought back a couple of players that were being rested. But have left out Landajo and Lavanini

Glad I get to watch Creevy live, he is one of my favourite players.

Dagg has a point to prove, and scrum battle will be interesting. The Jaguares scrum hasn't been as powerful as I expected this year, on occasions they have dominated. but overall have been inconsistent.
