@bones I’d have to jump on @Stargazers bandwagon with Devan Flanders. He looks like the most natural 8 we have in NZ, he’s just so damn young and needs more time before we talk about higher honours. Agree though, Jacobson is playing out of his skin atm and I wouldn’t mind him at 8 for the ABs, with Ardie most likely getting the 7 jersey.

Yep. . He seems to have got his head together and was impressive last year in Black. Though I don't think he's the incumbent just yet, he deserves an opportunity to become that.

@Canes4life I’d have to jump on @Stargazers bandwagon with Devan Flanders.

Have to agree - looks a real talent. Def. one to watch and be nurtured.

Its plain crazy if Razor isnt drafted in asap.
Give the captaincy to a Cantab as well and this is from a Hurricane supporter.
Next get a top business manager in, give them a decent profit share for a wage and start running this business from ABs to grass roots without giving the equity away

Havili should get a chance at 12 he played outstanding in the final and pulled of some big plays.
He looks the most complete 12 we have. Mounga,Havilli,ALB looks like an awesome fit.

He's played for the ABs in every position from 10 up. Not started all (10, 11, 14, 15) but moved into 12 & 13 with substitutions

    10 was against Namibia FFS.
I can't recall him being moved to centres for any period so assume it was during the last 5 minute shuffle-arounds that happen against weak opposition.

Yup, I'm not saying it as proof he should be ABs midfielder this season. But I think it is a pretty fucking impressive feat!

    Marc Ellis like

    Highly doubtful he’s that funny

Yep Havili the best 12 option at the moment easily.

@crucial yeah it does not make sense to put an FB at 12 who no longer plays there over a FB at 12 who may or may not like it that much but is actualy good at it (at this level anyway).
Havili and ALB look a natural pairing but I guess proof is in the pudding.

The real bugger is they'll be playing Fiji (sans NH players) and possibly Tonga - we're not going to find anything out about the ABs until the RC.

So off the back of SRA and considering injuries, I'm thinking I'd like to see given a go:
    Frizzel
    Papalii
    Jacobson

With Ioane on the bench maybe. But then again Blackadder and Sanders have really put their hands up and of course there's Robinson...

    Thought Jacobson was ace tonight

Certainly plays above his size and I'll bang my drum again - he's the closest thing to "good Read" in NZ rugby.

He’s white and looks like a possum in interviews?

I'd have Akira Ioane as a starter.
    He's the incumbent.
Frizzel has to win back the spot by proving himself at international level, not just Super level.

How does one prove oneself by not playing? Interesting he's the incumbent on one game, guess Jordie is a shoe in for the wing!

Ioane is the much better bench player.

    You're half right.
Ioane is the much better bench player AND starter.
Frizzel has had good Super rugby seasons and consistently failed to take the step up.
Ioane played great in both of his games for the ABs 2 from 2.
Frizzel is the one with something to prove at international level.

That's an answer to a question that wasn't asked, reading helps 😃

I'm still waiting to hear how someone can prove themselves by not playing.

Worth a run out at least - both Havili and ALB were excellent yesterday (as was Nankerville) , different styles of play and you can see it working well .

Think Foster needs to have ALB nailed down on the team sheet and build the midfield around him. Don't want to him mucked about like last year (or get injured).

Three ways Frizzel gets to prove he's up to at international level.

    1. Akira's play at international level falls and Frizzel is deemed next in line.
    2. He is on the bench.
    3. He plays against the lower ranked teams in matches that don't matter so much.

Frizzel has been in the All Blacks three years.
    Athletic - yes
    Physically dominant - no.

I wonder if you watched Akira in his two starts for the ABs.
He was probably the best forward in both games.

Don't be ridiculous I don't watch rugby, that'd be akin to reading the article.

    1. Yeah I don't think Akira being the god he's made out to be is as sure a thing as us thought.
    2. Nah I think there's better bench players
    3. Who are the first tests against again?
