Captains referrals are awesome...said no one
That should have been a PK for offside. If the Chiefs captain was paying attention they wouldn't have needed the scrum PK.
Stand in captain wasn’t there and by the time he saw what happened was turned down on timing

If the ref had been paying attention they wouldn't have needed a captains referral.
If the ref was perfect, you wouldn't need captains referral . Agreed.
Ref isn't perfect though, ever. Even i used to make the odd mistake.
Captains referral was made for exactly that situation and the opportunity was bottled.

Classic Williams. Slap down from an offside player right in front of him and he says it was just a knock on

@crucial That's why an outside back shouldn't be captain. Always too far from the ref.
I don’t disagree. It’s just the leadership team at the moment while forwards are either injured, coming back from injury or young kids

How many games has Kirifi cost us this year because of pure recklessness at the breakdown. The guy obviously has too much anger and no brains because he hasn’t bloody learnt.
-
@canes4life It’s a catch 22 though look at the tackles he racks up head and shoulders above the rest of the Canes team.
-
@canes4life I think it's because he's trying too hard. Maybe if they hadn't given him a sniff of that black jersey, he'd been okay.
-
Tackle stats:
L Boshier - 14 made, 1 missed
M Brown - 13 made, 0 missed
D Kirifi - 12 made, 1 missed
R Prinsep - 10 made, 0 missed
P Umaga-J - 10 made, 1 missed
Penalties conceded:D Kirifi and N Harris: 2
Turnovers conceded:
E Nanai-Seturo, D McKenzie, R Love: 3 -
I’m just fed up with a team run by complete morons. We could have won four games this year if it wasn’t for dumb tactics and discipline. Yes the refs have killed us at times but we are our own worst enemy. The Canes need to take a good hard look at themselves because one win and 6 losses is completely diabolical, yet no one seems to hold these coaches to account. If this was the NFL or any other pro comp around the world the coaches would have been given the boot already.

I not all that pissed with them suprisingly Canes, I a Cane's man since day one, but I actually think they almost playing is as good as you could expect with their roster. They really hurt losing Booth after TJP went, Then Ardie getting stuffed. Like I say blame who did the recruiting, but not sure I would be shooting too many at moment.
-
@mikey07 so? he’s just doing his job. The Canes are just too light in the forwards. You can’t have Blackwell, Prinsep and Kirifi in the same pack. Mix that with shit discipline and we are always going to struggle.
No point having all the talent in the world when our forwards go backwards. When will the Hurricanes ever learn? Get a good tight five first and then we can maybe think about winning games again.

@canes4life And the Canes re-sign the coaches for two more years.
I don't think the officiating has cost the Canes any games. What is mostly missing is good decision-making, execution and discipline. That's due to lack of good leadership, inexperience of some players, and some players just not being good enough. The blame for that is mostly on the coaches, who sign the wrong players and select the wrong match-day 23 each week. This is a problem at all levels in the Canes, you saw it in the U20s, too.
The whole organisation needs a spring clean.

@canes4life Rayasi worries me, he disappears for large parts of games.
As opposed to Savea who disappears for entire games?
See what I mean about Rayasi, he is just not putting himself into the game, I will be suprised if he starts next week after that performance, though I not sure who else we got as I would rather it not Savea either.

Wake me up when the board and the current coaching team are sent packing 😴
