@Snowy We don't have Tony Brown, so we have to fall back on cash! πŸ™‚

Actually LOL. Sadly for you I don't think he is for sale. Apparently he has had plenty of opportunities. Someone like Rangi could be good for you...Oops, sorry about that.

No need for the Blues to continue to select Telea as he isn't a local anymore.

@Nogusta Good that means Jordie won’t be following his brother up to the Blues

Unless he has skills specific (kicking game, positioning, high balls) to being a rugby union fullback, I think he's better on the wing.

In other words, in a three way battle for one wing spot between him, Caleb Clarke and Will Jordan, with Jordie being a lock on the other wing.

A lock playing on the wing is right

All Blacks, Sport, Rugby, Super Rugby

Exclusive: All Blacks' surprise plan for RTS, who he'll play for (and who will pay)

Exclusive: All Blacks' surprise plan for RTS, who he'll play for (and who will pay)

Further twists to RTS' stunning code switch - including an earlier than expected debut.

Rugby: All Blacks' surprise plan for Warriors star Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, who he'll play for (and who will pay)

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck could make his rugby union revival earlier than touted by turning out for Auckland in this year's Mitre 10 Cup provincial season, before joining the Blues in 2022.

There may also be a positional switch on the cards, with the All Blacks said to be privately hopeful Tuivasa-Sheck can progress into a quality midfield option.

Warriors captain and fullback Tuivasa-Sheck will complete this year's NRL season but he is then expected to skip the chance for a swansong with the Kiwis at the Rugby League World Cup, scheduled for October 23 to November 27 in England, in favour of fast tracking his return to the XV-man code he played through high school.

In something of a surprise move, however, the All Blacks are thought to have a desire to develop Tuivasa-Sheck into a midfield option as New Zealand's outside back stocks overflow with talent, while there is a comparative shortage of established midfielders.

Despite interest from the Highlanders and Chiefs, Tuivasa-Sheck is expected to this week complete a two-year agreement to join the Blues from 2022, with terms believed to have been reached.

Tuivasa-Sheck's deal with the Blues will include a significant third-party arrangement that sits outside the New Zealand Super Rugby salary cap.

While managing director Peter Thompson declined to comment when contacted by the Herald, Barfoot and Thompson are thought to be the leading sponsor offering to stump up for Tuivasa-Sheck's third-party payments, which could require a six-figure annual sum.

Beauden Barrett negotiated a similar arrangement when he switched from the Hurricanes to the Blues last year – his third-party deal worth $200,000 to $250,000 per-year which is still paid while he is on sabbatical in Japan this season.

That goes without saying. According to a story in the newspaper RTS's salary at the Warriors is $1.17 M. That's on a par, or higher, with the top level ABs.

@Tim colour me pessimistic, but I really struggle to see a league player coming over quite late into his career, being able to adjust to the midfield in both attack and defence in union, especially considering he only plays fullback in league doesn't he?

@Bones I barely watch league, so have absolutely no idea. Does sound like a stretch though.

I hope he isn't going to be given a big money contract, frankly he should need to show that he deserves one
