@TeWaio yeah it's not a bad idea, although I think maybe to make it "come around" a bit quicker, perhaps 2 countries a year as hosts.
True, but how do you cluster them? Aus/NZ obviously works, but SA/Arg criss-crossing the Atlantic is still a lot of travel, are there even direct flights?
Pasifika side couldn't host out of the islands due to lack of infrastructure. And Japan is nowhere near any other the others.

was it a success?
My clairvoyance was. I said before it started that Foster's coaching isn't up to very much but Rennie should be competitive. And I don't even follow the Chiefs that much.

Wow really?
Not sure if you've advanced your opinion on Foster previously.

Crowds were aweso... oh
They didn't even sell out venues to half full. Stupid idea, as unlike the 6 Nations you get fuck all traveling fans and a much lower engaged in rugby population

With the way the matches and tournament played out surely it’s future is healthier than ever.

The problem with sarcasm is when it explicitly contains permission to rant further.
And I'd hate to disappoint. So, writing my short War and Peace Summary NOW.
Will upload by 2030...not obsessed at all.. -

But I'm talking beyond that, very few travel for the RC with distances involved. It's not like popping around Europe

I know matchpants read it and cleared up what the actual article said. Basically the adminsitrator was saying - 'if world still in disaster next year, can do this again .... ' (paraphrased).
As for future TRCs. This format was awful IMO. But it did a job.
Would hope they can add a team or two, so that the competition is one match only v each opponent, not home and away. Save travel, save costs, improve unpredictability.

If want to do a one-nation tournament. Then could do a Southern Hemisphere Championship, once every 4 years. 4 current SANZAAR teams plus 3 PIs, plus Uruguay. 2 groups of 4, then a finals weekend (like the Autumn Nations Cup just been).
While a tournament with a final would be good practice for NZ (and all others). It won't help us practice our way past our 1/4 peak, semi-final flop syndrome.
Other tournament I have suggested on here before is Pan-Pacific Championship. NZ + Aus, Japan, 3 PIs, USA & Canada. Again 2 groups of 4 plus a finals weekend. I suggested this as a way for NZ to venture into Japanese TV money (and future USA potential) without wrecking TRC. Played in November window once every 4 years instead of touring. Because of timezones, this one doesn't need to be single country host. Although Tonga's inability to host any home matches means it would probably be the best format for the forseeable future.
I suggested this as I liked the geographic integrity of TRC being pseudo Southern Hemisphere championship. So wasn't keen on adding Japan.
But adding Japan to current TRC is probably the easiest hanging fruit.

@Rapido could be the mid year between RWCs, like the Euro football champs
Lions tour?

Pan-Pacifics would work in that window.
Not the Southern Hemisphere Championship, though, obviously, as 1 of them will be hosting the Lions. -
as i mentioned in the Japan in Super rugby thread, i enjoyed watching them play on the weekend, they were creative and tried a variety of approaches throughout the game and made good yards at times, would love to see them play against Argentina or Aussie to get a better gauge
