@gt12 is interesting seeing how differently the Maori are using him to the ABs and thus the effectiveness
???

The Maori coaches brought out the best in their players. Well done. Good control by the halves as game went on and great line out base. Just don't feel some of the pasifika squad were used in the best way to make use of their talents or were used too late.

Taleni Seu is sitting the aisle across from me.
You must have been sitting near me. Seu was with Kautai.
I saw both as we walked into the stadium so was surprised to see Seu. I thought he was in Japan.

I liked the look of Selby-Rickit although he will need to add some beef to his frame for higher honours.
Moana Pasifika obviously had a clear tactic to challenge Trask under the high ball, and he got monstered in tackles a few times. Rayasi did well to win some of those 50/50s but you notice live that he is often out of position when his team doesn't have possession.
-
@Bones i heard that too, I think they must have only meant at a high level, representing all PI’s
What was interesting was they also said they hope to see this team in SR...I thought this was different to the organisation going for SR

No, same group and NZR's preferred option, law suit notwithstanding.

I like Tupaea at 12 much more than at 13.
Is this where I say, I told you so?
Yes. Yes, it is.
Now go tell the Chiefs' backline coach!
-
Here is the Pacific Islanders team that played in 2004. It was a good AB audition for Lauaki and Sivivatu.

He was in the Maori coaching box tonight.
That probably still won't be enough. Better get down to the after-match and spell it out for them.

Really? Coaches and players are all from other teams so it’s just the legal company that is the same...that’s a bit weird,
-
@Kiwiwomble Michael Jones and Bryan Williams are behind Moana Pasifika. The fact that the NZRPA is also involved is a huge conflict of interest.
The other group is Kanaloa Pasifika which is backed by Kaino, Rokocoko, Atiga and Afoa amongst others.

Is Black the best "traditional" first five in NZ? So refreshing to watch a 10 with a boot that can lead a team around. He's had a massive year.
Best rugby I've seen Stevenson play in the first ten or so minutes...where did he go?
I thought Black showed in this game that he has a way to go before he is ready for higher honours. Flat short kick-offs giving his team no chance to contest, poor kicking from hand and laboured passing. He's a long way behind RM and BB.
Agree re Stevenson.
-
@Crazy-Horse huh, interesting. His tactical kicking was a million miles ahead of anything I've seen this year from RM who doesn't even seem to do it and BB who tries but sprays it like that scene in me, myself and Irene.
