I doubt the Argie give a shit about this game, they got their win and that's all that matters. An absolute hammering will be meaningless to them, and TBH meaningless to the ABs as well. We had to win the first game and we came up well short.
We are the ones who have to worry about getting an absolute hammering.

i really doubt this is the attitude.
Argentina have made 10 changes to a side that got their first ever win over the ABs. They are clearly just using this match as an opportunity rotate the squad and blood new players.
On the flipside us smacking a severely weakened Argentina side should be pretty meaningless, but I guess our standards have dropped pretty markedly in recent times.
-
@Snowy Im not really convinced by this. Some of the rotations were forced by injury (such as 9) but a lot of the introductions are European based players being reintegrated (Isa, Cordero, de la Fuente) or are first teamers coming back from injury (Boffelli).
It's probably not the best team they could put out with full fitness but it's far from a B team.

@No-Quarter 'us smacking a severely weakened Argentina side should be pretty meaningless'.
What are you talking about? if Arg win this they have one hand on the trophy. If NZ win this with a bonus point then they take the trophy.
Why would either team take it lightly?
I swear some AB fans smoke crack for a living.

Yes, now we want to win rather than just look good in the pre-training workshops. VISION! (trademark: Ian Foster).

It's going to take some time for me to adjust to the ABs being in the middle of the pack under Foster

nah, it's more a hobby for me to be honest

this was my first thought, I have seen some comment from Argie fans that at least a few of these are actually what they would have considered first choice previously, there are a couple debuting but it might not be as much of a blood new players situation as a headline suggests

Which means that the 'first choice' guys that haven't played yet have pressure on them to perform or lose their standing. Also takes away much of the fatigue factor.
Pass the pipe.

We’ll never know but they do have two cracks at it.

@Snowy said in Argentina Two: Newcastle, 28 November:
@Kirwan Yep, with a bonus point.
They are going to have to look the part, score tries, be aggressive and innovative to shut some of us up.
I don't care about innovative, just the basics done well is enough.
I think I'd prefer a tough, hard-fought win where we showed discipline, patience and coolness under pressure, than the usual 30 point blow-out victory after we lose to a weaker side.
-
Curious to see how the bench is used, it is 37 degrees in Sydney already, you would be mad not to take this weekends temperatures in NSW into account. Currently 35 in Newcastle
-
@bayimports Foster claims that's why he stacked the bench the way he did - for a late push.

lets see, to be honest if he doesn't make the changes earlier than normal it will be tough. Same goes for both sides, even the wind blowing warm today

Anyone been to Argentina*? I understand the biggest cities are humid rather than super hot in summer and quite a few players would be coming from Europe well - two weeks of an airconditioned hotel - so I imagine they won't have that much of a climate advantage.
*on my bucket list for various reasons. -
I have been, but not long enough to enjoy a local bbq and rugby game, both items on my hit list too
