Highlanders 2021

@taniwharugby I know, I'd assume the only reason he's moving is to be near his brother so that would possibly mean his brother could play for the Landers. He looks super ready.
-
some great examples of him just finding lot of space, big meters, might really help us get go forward in the backs, happy with this

Signing a three-year contract extension with the Chiefs in 2018, the Waikato representative was thought to have been signed with the Hamilton side until 2021, but will instead ply his trade down at Forsyth Barr Stadium for the next three years
Got out early it seems

@Kiwiwomble haha well the Landers are my 2nd team but that probably makes it sting a bit more tbh.

Fuck!
I suspected that was going to happen, but I'm still pissed off. I personally think he's making a mistake as his best chance of higher honors are as a strike winger with excellent high ball skills.
The Chiefs would have probably been better off this year offering the competition for 15 to Alaimalo and Stevenson and putting McKenzie back at 10.
With how amazing Trask has been for BOP at fullback, maybe the Chiefs think about swapping DMac and Trask around next season.

@gt12 I think you will find Alaimalo will Probably sign with the Southland Stags along with his brother Charles and mentor Dale McLeod
If that happens that's his 4th NPC side (Northland, Ta$man, Waikato and now maybe Southland)
Wasn't he in the Canterbury system before Northland too?

@Bones I know I’ve said this before but my sources say he has I also have read and article saying he has.
who has what?
-
@Kiwiwomble that Vaahakolo has a contract I think he referred to earlier as well?
If you click on the name in the red circle in a post it shows which post they were responding to.
-
@taniwharugby yeah, i know that, but Bones actually talked about two different people, Mckay and Vahaakolo
If he was refering to Vahaakolo, i'd love to see the article, everything ive seen say the Landers asked him to come down and earn a spot, i havent seen anything offical yet, and signing a reasonably high profile outside back could be an issue

According to this article, Folau Fakatava still has one year on his Highlanders contract.
Also good to read that he wasn't poached. He tried for 3 years to get a scholarship in NZ, before he finally got 3 offers. Persistence. On his part. Not scouts.

@Stargazer thats good to hear, i thought i'd read it was only through to 2020
