I'm happy with both reds tbh. Both calls were right and sumo is also right with what he is saying.
Gutted to see Akira go. God knows if he'll get another chance or not.

The Red Card situation really needs to be look at.
There has been too many games wrecked in recent years.
But we're back to even, so I don't see a problem
I can imagine the Ref thinking "Oh, no. Not fucking again..."
My gripe is there's no distinction between deliberate/dangerous foul play and inadvertent dangerous play .

Here's why I'm not against either red card.
He not wrong but it’s half the story, it’s also their choice to play and entertain us

The problem is that the margin between Ofa's tackle being perfectand being a red card is so small. I'm not sure what Ofa did technically wrong. If you were his coach, how would you get him to change his technique so he pulled off a legal tackle?
Don't be so fucking lazy and get lower. You can do it at scrum time.
-
I don't have a problem with either of the reds under the current rules. Ofa's was really high and he hardly made any effort to lower his body despite having the time to do so.
The Oz blindside's tackle was probably even more reckless. Shocker that Whitelock didn't leave the field for a HIA.
I do agree that the reds are overly harsh for both tackles and points to the need of an in-between option. Whether that's a 20 minute card or that particularly is gone for the game but can be replaced by someone after 10 minutes.

Thought he was just getting into his stride too. Think Fozzie's seen enough to give him another go. Would be the fair thing to do.

That's the tragedy - he's paying for someone else's mistake

He will. He’s not Ben Atiga... 😉

He'll get another chance alright - he was excellent.

Cullen, Kirwan and Mils all on the panel said they don't agree with the red cards.
Concussion can (and does) finish careers. Both were too high and hit the head. Players just need to aim lower
-
I thought they were both reds under the rules as they are, doesn’t mean I think they should be in general though

At scrum tim you know the other player will be at the same height.

@NTA Yes, but protecting people’s brains and preserving the spectacle are not incompatible concepts

The fact he was going so well won’t be forgotten

I wonder if Sumo will call them out on Twitter as well.......
