@BerniesCorner I understand your appreciation Laumape but i I think he’s a one trick pony. If he diversifies his game he might be something to reckon with.

He was dropping goals and doing kick passes in the warm up

    Great debut from Hodgeman

Was a bit unsure about him, particularly in the scrum, because he's not physically bulky like Moody or Tu'inukuafe. But, yes, he did the job alright.

@sparky Could easily be the next Nonu and end his career at 12.

    Dear Caleb

If you stumble across the Fern in your google search, and read this, no pressure aye bro...😎

You’ve played 80 minutes of test rugby over the past two weeks and made an awesome start to your career. One test at a time. Your old man was a hell of a player, but he knows the ups and downs of form and selection so don’t worry about being the next Lomu, Nonu or Eroni, keep doing your thing young fella. Keep working hard and that will put the pressure on the selectors to keep selecting you. The rest will take care of itself

I wasn't totally convinced but much improved from the team today. We seemed a bit out of control on attack in the first half and a bit too passive in our tackling as well. But we grew into the game and a number of players performed individually strong. It all clicked in the second half and the aussies frayed as the game went on. Much needed win but plenty to work on as they say

@nzzp If they had a test for Glutes I reckon he would squeeze the most.

@Kirwan Not convinced yet. Looked like a reversion to type to me. I knew we would lose, but i was keen to see the DR tactics which we used to good effect employed again. But we just dropped all the good stuff from our game like the sniping at the base and intelligent out of hand kicking and threw in even worse stuff like throwing hail mary out the back pop passes and aimless kicking to the most dangerous players in the field.

Oh and trying to exit our 22 right after the half time restart by spinning it wide. It all felt very Michael Cheika.

My mind was blown at that point - low percentage rugby executed well keeps you in games.

Beating some of these bad habits out of them will be time consuming

The stats guy will make easy money talking about success rate of turnovers from ABs box kicks. Zero

I also don't think NZ were actually all that much better - and would have struggled against a better side today. Most test sides won't miss 20 regulation tackles in a row.

Which is probably the positive for us: we made breaks, just couldn't find the right form of attack when it mattered. Little things

Thought Coles hit the mark with his niggly push and shove early on in the game. Bit of a statement ‘hey we’re going to keep coming at you all day‘

Hodgman was good on debut, solid in the scrum and effective around the park.

Cane was outstanding and Savea wasn’t far behind.

Would love to see Akira or Sotutu get a run on the blindside. Frizzell is serviceable, but just seems to lack the extra bit of physicality we expect from an AB 6.

    Smith was Smith.

Mounga minus the stupid switch play that lead to the Aussie try was pretty good.

    BB really good

WTF is Jordie doing on the wing? Didn’t do anything wrong today, but let’s get some pace out wide please.

Clarke, just WOW! Love the leg drive and determination to make those extra few metres after the initial contact.
