So that shows he was going to pick Bridge too, until he got injured.

Not sure you can conclude that.

He made no changes that weren't forced by injury, has kept everything else the same. Think it's pretty clear he would have left Clarke on the bench like Sotutu.

That's not true. Coles and ALB are starting.

@Kiwiwomble I expect with what is available, yes.

Just hope he remembers that card he was given last time he played Aus.

What other locks do we have ready to stand up? Imagine if Patty went down in the first 10mins.

Best ten at 15, best fullback at 14, centres around the wrong way, second best 7 playing at eight where he's behind multiple players in that position, our depth being tested at lock, a player that may not be up to it at six and they drop Reiko who looks like he was in good form. At the very least play him on the wing.

    So many problems.

    Fair point.

@KiwiMurph Ned Hanigan? Awesome news. And Rob Simmons to come on late and give away another crucial penalty whilst looking like he is about to cry. 😉

@Machpants yeah I don't get that - Hanigan was certainly improved during Super Rugby Au but it's a big ask. Watch out for Reds captain Liam Wright on the bench.

Why are we persisting with Goodhue at 12 and Jordie at 14? Fucking idiots.

Especially when ALB at 12 and Goodhue at 13 works and they're both on the bloody field.

@Duluth I thought @bayimports had it the wrong way around in the midfield. But no, it's a 12 at 13 and a 13 at 12.

Firms up the point that there is some plan here with the backline tactics.
Goodhue is not a 12 in the sense of a second five or a linebreaker.
It is like they have skipped the 12 altogether and gone for a two 13 setup.
(Kind of makes sense if you skip pass the 12 on attack anyway)

I remember the ABs and Canes tried that a couple of times in the very early days with Umaga at 12 and Nonu at 13.

Exactly. Can they not count? Do they not understand how the numbers work? WTF.

It would have made more sense to start Barrett and give him as many minutes as he could cope with.
