With this new combo I think we will see DMac and JB both spend time covering deep at fullback.

TAB punters don't seem to have minded this news.

When I looked earlier today, I think we were something like $1.13 to $5.80 to win (Oz was under $6 at any rate).

    Now, we're $1.08 to $6.70.

I've decided to place an insurance bet!

    @Crucial

I’m surprised that they don’t seem to see Jordie as second playmaker - really they’ve got three out there. It’s a strange replacement .

And if both Clarke and Bridge are only 11s, that also means that we don’t have right wing cover on the bench or in the team, so one or both of them are covering 14.

I’d have put Clarke in and switched Bridge over, with Dmac to the bench (as they need 10 cover). Feel a bit sorry for Joane who should have been there from the start and could have got a bench role here.

Probably most don't realise the change

    Ioane has played right wing

@NTA When I was at Uni in the 90's the local pub had the special, mind you I think it was the NPC from memory. But the pub no doubt made their money after the game when all the punters got off the bus and continued drinking.

Fucking hell the "Foster year(s)" are going to be fun. When I heard the news I thought well at least Jordie will be in his rightful position and Clarke will start. But no of course not, we have to bring in DMac, in the worst form of his life, from outside the 23 to start. Duh.

Jordie isn't a wing at all. Makes far more sense to swap Bridge across.

@No-Quarter or Reece in. It's not like Jordie hasn't been doing second playmaker from 15 all season for the canes. Maybe it's a THREE playmaker system now!

Why not Will Jordan at 14 and Jordie Barrett at 15??
D Mac can be on the bench (at best)

Coaches are always reluctant to make too many positional changes because of one withdrawal. Reece to the right wing would have been the obvious choice.

My Reese suggestion is because at least he had experience, for a late change and foster seems dead set on experience. I'd prefer Jordan, or Clark, or Dane Coles on the wing over DMac in the squad

I'm still not happy with the backline but I hope DMac has a blinder and brings the form he found for Waikato before going into camp.
Also means that if either BB or RM aren't available (which is quite possible given the campaign coming up) we have more form options.
DMac and JB has worked before, now let's hope we get some late Clarke action that forces the decision on the left.

All we need now is one of Whitelock or Tuipoluto to go down before tomorrow and we’re starting a lock that half the AB squad don’t even know 😉

    But according to some he's a 12, not a 10 (or a 14 or 15)

The flakiest player in NZ who shouldn't be anywhere near the 46 gets a start lol.

    Who is that? Jordie?
