Wtf is Dixon going on about and why wouldn't he stop?

think the ref was pretty clear, tipped by own player, reckless play by Otago and still a card, if he landed on his head different, but he didn't according to how they saw and explained it. Think Ash just wanted straight red

He was looking fakatava , no eyes for anyone else or the ball...he’s gone

The Bay halfback was probably more of a factor in the fall. The Otago player did try and halt his momentum when he realised the other Bay player had jumped.

I think that’s all correct but missing he still has realisability to protect the player isn’t he air, if he’d been watching the ball and gone up himself it might have been different

Its contact with a player in the air, who landed on his head. It's red by the rules, unless you're a coward who doesn't want to make a call in a big game.

Shouldn't be though, cause it's pretty much accidental.
    But those are the rules.

@ACT-Crusader nah that's bullshit, no eyes on the ball. Reckless as hell.

He probably thought the Bay halfback was going to take it. He was in position to do it. But the fullback came flying in.

All within his right to do.

I don’t disagree with the YC. It was more an unfortunate one in my book.

He landed in his shoulder and his head impacted the ground as a direct result, it's red.
    Landed on his side. Yep.

Do we call this a good crowd or a shit crowd for first defense? I think it’s fucking rubbish. Glad to see Hawkes win it as I bet a good crowd fronts up for their first defense.

Come on the Hawkes! Come on the Hawkes! Black, white, it’s alright, come on the Hawkes!!

He's just come back from injury and Flanders has probably been our best forward so far this year. 🙂

@Hooroo I agree, if you can get up to support your team after they played so hard to win the bloody shield ..then you maybe as a province you don’t deserve it ..

Not a great game with many errors, but love the passion in shield games, happy to see it go to Hawkes too. Still time for Otago though

    Landed on his side. Yep.

That's not how the law works. Just because a player hits their head after landing on their arse doesn't make it a RC.
