BOP v Southland

Tell ya what, Selby-Rickit will be some player if he could add 3-4kg to his frame.

@Steven-Harris yes. Really impressed by southland pack. Both locks are powerhouses. Was disappointed by odd selections from bop for this one and a misguided kicking game.
-
Haven’t watched yet but we avoided the banana skin, extra happy I took the double on the line at the tab, taranaki and Southland
-
@ARHS yep, Black and Hollinshead were both erratic with their kicking, and the backline selections were odd - too many cooks in some ways. Making sense of it isn’t helped by the perennial lack of info from the Bay Union about injuries though...

Exactly, there are lots of players missing who were good last season and so you have to assume they are injured - but as you say, no information is given at all. Hard to believe that the Bay communications is even worse now than it was a few years ago when it was absolutely terrible.

BOP strength in recent years was getting the ball clear quickly from the base to rampaging straight runners and constantly passing the gain line near the breakdown. But, this seems to be in the past now. Would love to see Regan Ware, Garland and Curry bursting on to front foot ball! And I agree with Bones, Leaupepe looks powerful and effective too. Hopefully Ross, Blake, Carter, Karpik, Harris, Trask, Narawa etc available very soon
