Anybody else sick of Harry Maguire basically being touted as a hero on BBC?

Yes but... I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to come out here. I reads something about the partner of one of the guys being rendered unconscious after being injected with something by a group of Albanians. Something not quite right here.

But yes. I am sick of the eulogising by the beeb.

Yeah. Do you buy the lines about police brutality though? I find it very hard to believe...

Totally believable when you consider that he's a soccer player, they have a different concept of brutality.

Hitting him on the legs and telling him no more football, his career is over? So that was a frisk while at the same time the final whistle went for the game on the telly.

From what I saw on the TV news tonight it was Maquire's sister.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle of both stories.

@Bones Ruffling his hair after he’s fallen over constitutes brutality. I’ve watched soccer before.

@Bones You say pretty neat, I say a sickening example of racial profiling. Wouldn’t have given a second thought if it was white.

I'm not sure what you expected in Nottinghamshire.

Home of the only Hooters in the country.

love how everytime I open Stuff, I am confronted with a pop-up to donate to them to keep quality journalism alive in NZ, and then you get hard hitting articles like this one

    That is fucked.
Either "city" - I can imagine would look good from the safety of sitting in a (low profile) boat in the middle of the respective rivers. But get ashore... the only thing you're looking at is the pavement, to avoid dog(?)-shit.
Having lived in the UK for the last decade or so - I found it the opposite of NZ. UK - the coastal towns are shitholes, and the river-towns are beautiful.
    UK river towns - Henley-on-Thames, Goring/Streatley
    NZ - I present Hamilton, Whanganui, Palmy-Nth

I have to do an overnighter in Whangas for work every month and I will admit the gardens/lake area is pretty stunning for a morning walk. The view from the hill is ok too. But overall ? shit no.

In saying all that it is far prettier than the tron.

@Kruse I remember staying at the Oakley Court on a footy trip, sipping beers in the afternoon and thinking, this is a nice bit of the world.

I don't know what is more crazy? That both those two are fighting for first place or that Whanganui is the current holder??

How does Wellington and Auckland not walk this??? Christchurch is flat and dull so I can see that reason there. Even Dunedin is nicer than Whanganui and Tron
