Had a few nice days in Cornwall, Looe, over the weekend, came home early as it seems spending time with my husband is actually a shit idea and looks like I'm probably getting divorced pretty soon.
Sounds like I'm joking but I'm not. Let's hope we don't get lockdown again anytime soon.Been there done that but you can come out of it as great friends if you’re both grown up about it and above all compromise. My ex wife ended up with a great bloke, they have two kids who I adore and she just wrote my other half a sickening ( in a nice way....I think ) lovey dovey birthday greeting today. They’re basically bffs and naturally yours truly bears the brunt of any grief. Turns out I haven’t gotten any better at housework over the years.
Don’t ever fight in front of the kids or have a go at hubby just to ‘one up’....not sure how many kids you have but always remember that one. You might be in for a rough few months or years....depends on you and your situation. Luckily for me my ex was willing to work at things, as was I. No lawyers ( apart from those needed for property division etc ) compromise, putting the boys first etc. My folks and I even went to her sisters wedding this year prior to lockdown. It was a fucken awesome shindig and we were touched we got the invite.
Hopefully you both remember you got married in the first place for a reason. Maybe you drifted apart, differed as the years went by, other parties ( MN5 raises a guilty hand ).....but particular when there’s children involved it’s SO important to put differences aside and focus on the fact that person is the other 50% of what made the kid (s).
Best of luck to ya, you’ll come out the other side stronger

@R-L thst doesn’t sound good. Fingers crossed for you.
Should have popped to see @Victor-Meldrew while there!
Really sorry to hear that @R-L. Whatever happens, hope things work out for the best.
@MajorRage We're avoiding Looe like the plague after we picked up a birthday cake from the bakers on Saturday. Reminded me of Benidorm with all the obese people and their Croydon Facelifts....

@Victor-Meldrew It's a great place spoiled by the people.

@R-L Sorry to hear that, hope it improves or if it ends, ends civilly.
@voodoo another option could be to drive to Wellington and fly from there.
No flights outta Welly to Sydney, and no way I'm taking a risk on a domestic flight from there with such short notice.
BTW, anyone want to buy a 2013 Subaru Legacy? Awesome car, discount available to Ferners...

We think what's happened is people who normally went to, say Benidorm, chose Cornwall.
But they didn't realise the Sth coast is very different to the North coast places like Newquay which would have been a far better choice for them.

How does one pronounce "Looe" ?
In English, "Loo" as in Waterloo.
In Cornish, "Logh" as in "Lock" but with a very soft "k". It means sea inlet.

Heading up Port Isaac way next Friday...

Well you'll obviously be travelling through Devon. Look out for the overhead motorway signs. One bright one a couple of weeks ago during a very busy time read "Welcome to Devon. Free beer in Cornwall".
