Still no idea what BP pulled out of his arse at the end there,

    Newshub say:
They seemed to have achieved that in the dying moments, when No.8 Pita Gus Sowakula dove for the line, but was ruled to have knocked on and the Blues won a clearing penalty.

@nzzp Looked like a knock on on the replay, and he looked to try to go again from the deck.

Well that’s the end of the complaints then, doesn’t matter what’s happened after the knock on.

    Good defence.

@Kirwan A lot of it because of our own undoing with our poor discipline on attack. We do look good when we are on attack, but ruin it with that on annoying word - discipline!

We seemed to get pinged a lot for side entry and losing our feet. Even on attack.

Ignoring other teams being able to get away with that, just clearing those two things up to take the ref out of the game would allow us to build more pressure.

100%. Breakdown discipline is easily fixed too - I'm hopeful for next year. It's been our achilles heel all season - getting into good positions and then either conceding a penalty, or doing something stupid.

i can live with the call at the end sometimes calls go your way, other days you dont get them. lot easier to take than last week where TMO didnt know the rules, this week we just weren't good enough.

@Kirwan Definitely, and we'd be putting sides ike the Chiefs away with ease IF we could make these small adjustments, but hey, why am I moaning, we've literally won more local derbies this year then we have in the last 5 years!

As irritated as Chiefs supporters may be by the final penalty, the first try was a disgraceful abrogation of Pickerill's application of the laws.

    alt text

All players not participating at the scrum remain at least five metres behind the hindmost foot of their team.

That looked so obvious to me when watching the game.

It was obvious but had no effect - if a defender was taken out, I would have more sympathy, but he went so early and got his timing so wrong that it literally had zero impact.

I'm fucked off NZR haven't activated Sports Ears for SRA because I like to know what the penalties are for and to hear the communication between the ref and ARs.

I usually have Radio Sport (or whatever it is called nowadays) on, when I go to a game. Sometimes you can hear the ref via the radio, or at least you have the radio commentary that explains what's happening.

    Flattened by an unnecessary shot.

It’s been a bugbear of mine for a long time. Players diving late on a try scorer or sliding in at them.
Always carries a high risk of injury.

@Crucial do we know how bad the injury is? I reckon he may have been a shot for the North / South match.

He tripped, wasn’t a cynical dive in this instance.

    Good defence.

Not releasing the player is the first offence. I couldn’t see any obvious knock on.
The ruling was holding on so Newshub have no idea.
