@Higgins Va'a has come back from Australia and seems to have taken the reigns in the last two weeks. Suprising they haven't used Love at Fullback, or is he injured?
That's good to read. He had a tough run with injuries so good he back on the field.
-
@Canes4life the club hasn’t released any info if he is or not, but like you said Va’a has started the last 3 weeks so I’m wondering if Love is injured because he’s not in either the reserves or the grade under it.
-
Yeah he is too good of a player to be dropped to the reserves. I've heard Love has been impressing at the academy so hopefully, he gets a good shot with Wellington this year. He definitely looks like the most athletic out of all the options within the Hurricanes region and that could play in his favour come selection down the track.
-
@Canes4life He impressed the two and only games he has played for Wainui, I can also confirm he’s a no show this weekend TJ Va’a is starting at 10
-
@Canes4life how long is PUJ signed for? He has been attracting interest further north!
-
@Nogusta the Canes will be keen to keep him.
On a side note it's good to see Kane Le'aupepe making his return for Jville this weekend in club footy. Hopefully he makes a return for the Canes after the bye. Does anyone know if he's playing for BOP this year?

@mikey07 Straight from the source (the Hurricanes' media release from 14 August 2019, including grammatical error):
Proven try scorer Wes Goosen has signed on until at least the 2022 Investec Super Rugby season while Peter Umaga-Jensen have signed on for 2020.

Hurricanes playing club rugby:
Wellington
Billy Proctor (MSP)
Salesi Rayasi (HOBM, bench)
Kane Le'aupepe (Johnsonville)
Murphy Taramai (Upper Hutt Rams)Hawke's Bay
Assuming Jonah Lowe (Clive) and Danny Toala (Hastings) will play club rugby again. They did last week. Devan Flanders probably not released. Pouri Rakete-Stones?Manawatu
Liam Mitchell is not on his club's team sheet. Either not released by the Canes or injured.Auckland
Simon Hickey (Grammar TEC, bench) -
What did everyone else make of the booing? Think this is a little bit sensative of Beauden. It came across as friendly fire from his old fans. Nothing more, nothing less.
-
@Canes4life To me, it seems he underestimates how betrayed some fans feel when one of their best and favourite players moves to another NZ franchise. It's almost like committing treason. Personally, I don't like booing, but I can understand it in this situation.
-
I think that if you don’t like the booing, you’re a bit precious after telling the fans that you grew up dreaming about playing for the Canes. Perhaps since you were the player that brought them to the promised land, they might be a bit pissed about you leaving?

I had assumed he would have found it funny, as it seemed to be panto booing rather than with malice.

Living up here has made him soft....

I prefer players that have some loyalty to a team that's been good for them. Like Carter living in Auckland was to the Crusaders (until basically his career is finished)
Or Coles is to the Canes. Even Nonu returned when he could. Smith is another one. Great players where the team is important. Not just a vehicle to earn a living. Where a player will happily move to an opponent as its a little more convenientSo if he doesn't like the booing tough luck (its even worse that he moans about it). And what he should focus on is playing well
