Gary Teichmann
Dawson’s bunny. He practically wrote him a cheque as he was buying that dummy.

Great play, but hardly consigns Teichmann to the scrap heap.
It was a No.8 backtracking against a No. 9 after all

"However the two parties have now agreed a new deal, which will protect the lowest earners in the Irish game." Minimum potatoes guaranteed.
To be honest, same with every case of reduced wages in rugby I've seen reports on, a big push by the big names to make sure the Jo average pro doesn't get shafted. Which is good to see
-
@MiketheSnow No, undoubtedly a good player but what do most people remember him for? Unfair but...

What were the Saffa Blindside and the Fullback doing?

Captaining SA to unbeaten Tri Nations season and 17 wins on the bounce in my house.
He captained the Springboks in 39 tests between 1996 and 1999 with 27 of those (72%) ending in victory.
-
@MiketheSnow was he the captain when SA lost their first series at home?

To whom?

@MiketheSnow oops...NZ.

Good achievements but in the wider discussion, having the 7th best test win percentage of Number 8 international captains (minimum tests 10, 5th if the minimum is 15) isn’t exactly a fantastic stat to put him in a world best team.
From NZ only he trails Shelford (10 matches, 96%), Read (52, 85%) and Lochore (18, 83) for wins as Captain at No. 8.
He doesn’t even lead for SA no 8s, behind Du Plessis (15, 86%).

That was the point.
Both Du Plessis and Teichmann better options than Duane.
Overall, not in with a shout.

You’ll have to forgive me, because from your two word post of Gary Teichmann, and subsequent defense, it wasn’t clear to me that you were refuting the selection of Thor.
I think I see it now that I actually read the thread. What a fucking hassle.

UK government has announced that it expects stadiums to be open for fans from the start of October.
November internationals in the UK will go ahead.
Yup there 6 Nations plus Japan (and summertime riser, can't remember?) Nothing to do with SH, as they haven't come here

@Machpants The Tests are still scheduled to happen according to World Rugby. It is amazing that the NZ Government have refused to reinburse NZR for the cancellation of the June internationals which their quasi-dacronian quarantine policy made impossible. The stubborn inflexibility of the NH club sides in refusing to allow the tests to shift to August/September didn't help.
