Too many mistakes, far too many.

Huge games from Smith, Dixon, Parkinson, Frizzel, MMT. Honourable mention to Johnstone and Tokolahi.

Matchbox and Coltman are shadows of their former selves. Maybe Walden made Thomson look good?

Cracking start from Hunt, with a harsh call on Dixon. Maybe if that had come off he might have straightened his game out. Needs to stop the absolute clangers in between the odd dinky run and he might have a positive impact.

Good to see Gregory come back solid.

Geez, Hurricanes 89 tackles, Highlanders 189.

19 made by Tokolahi (from 21 attempts).

@antipodean Yeah fair enough. Who knows, with a bit of improvement with his throwing he may go to a World Cup one day with the Abs....

@Stargazer ok, looked like he was doing a lot more cleaning up than that, I would have said half the breaks around the ruck were tidied up by smith but obviously not

That was a game we should have put away. It was disappointing to let them back in it.

Jordie has made a huge difference to this team. We have a lot of solid but unspectacular players and are very reliant on a few players. Aumua was probably the standout. Always over the advantage line but the main thing was the much better lineout. He should get the start next week as well.

Nah, he's not even in the tallest 30% of the team....

Fifita replaced Blackwell in the 58th minute. Can't say I've noticed either of them.

And most of laumape's work was in close, not running it back from fullback or the wing, very impressive body of work

He'd make a wonderful League player.

What ever happened to the requirements to support your own weight and not go past the ball at the breakdown?

And not hold onto Dixon who was defending the Channel?

I was going to make a comment on this. The refs need to pay more attention to "cleaners" holding onto opposition players that aren't part of the ruck. That's how BBBR got injured last year as his leg was held.

Not a vintage Hurricanes performance but got the win.

I thought Aumua and Jordie Barrett were excellent. Laumape had his best game of SRA, even if his passing is suspect. Canes forward pack is meh.

Aaron Smith was outstanding for the Landers. He has IMHO been the best perfomer in the competition.

Lomax is having a mare at scrum time

And in this game he made Laulala look like a dynamic ball-runner. He's been watching too much of the Franks' highlight reel.

Aumua's stocks have risen for the 3rd hooker. Coltman looks like a player well down on confidence, and I expected him to fuck up that last lineout too.
