@Bones
Tupaea is pretty raw but fair points. Tomkinson and Thompson would be stopgap players at best I would think.Yeah I'd say Tomkinson is just as raw. Thompson ran one good line, but the rest of his game wasn't exactly standout.
Tupaea is the best back in a decent chiefs backline at the moment, dangerous with almost every touch and not shy on defence. Faiane makes excellent decisions and his cover defence has saved the blues a couple of blushes.
Faiane is a thinking 12, with some great skills.
Tupaea also seems adept at getting in after the tackle and contesting like a good (small) 7. V. useful skill in a backline.

They have Blackwell on the bench but no Robinson or Parkinson? Otherwise fairly solid, Blackwell and JGB shouldn't be anywhere near ABs consideration though.
Surprised Tonga hasn't made a play for Tokolahi, given ABs don't seem to have shown interest?

Lee Stensness is back baby!
Another educated boot. Really second five eighths rather than 'inside centres'.

Apologies if it’s already been discussed, And to go with that, is beaudy at 15 the best option for the ABs going forward ?
If it’s a yes , I’m all for him playing 15 at this level
This comment in another thread is worthy of discussion here.
We have had this problem for a while now IMO. As good a player as BB is, IMO he is not the type of 10 that we really need in the ABs.
Trouble is that we don't have any of those 10s around. Old Cruden (minus the chip kicks) would be the closest we have to a 10 that reads the opposition well and calls the shots on the fly. Someone that watches the opposition and works the ball into weak areas while changing gameplans when they have your own areas figured out.
BB has never been that guy and Mounga is also BB light.
So back to the reality and is BB the best option at the moment?
He has to be on the field at 10 or 15 so it will simply be a case (as per last year) of whether we gain more from a DMac or JB at the back than we do from Mounga at the front. -

underrated 6/lock option
by who? He got capped and everyone on here loves him

In that uncapped ABs line-up, IWL should be the first lock to be named in the starting XV.
Is that the same guy the Canes let go? 🤷♂️

@canefan Let go? Did I miss something?
Oops thinking of someone else. Fake news

not let go, just isn't good enough to start
In NZ we're big on bench players getting rep gigs

Maybe next year.
I think this year will not see too many newbies except as squad -

So I guess the question becomes ,
Is mounga 10 , beaudy 15 , the best 10 / 15 combination we can field ? I tend to think it might be , for now at least
