There is enough blame to go around but even if some of what O'Connor says is true it did sound like a dysfunctional squad.
when was the last time the Wallabies weren't dysfunctional?

so, 2 decades ago?

I don't mind the article - it's a nice counterpoint to Cheika's recent comments.
Cheika has come out recently and basically tried to spin it by placing the blame of his failings at the administration, Super Rugby quality in Aus and bringing in Scott Johnson.
It's refreshing to see someone call out Cheika's approach.

Kyle Godwin and Jono Lance coming back to play for the Force.

I'd forgotten about Godwin. Handy player from memory. Lance is a journeyman but the kind of squaddie anyone would find useful.

It’s amazing what they can do to colourise old historic black and white photos these days.

@Bovidae i hate those sort of articles
The whole thing reads like "it's Cheika's fault. And the players. But not mine, i knew what the issues were" so that his next job interview is easier
Yes.
But how much of it do you believe?
I'm picking 90-odd%

If it's not on Facebook, it didn't happen - like the Wallabies holding the Bledisloe Cup...

" incoming Wallabies coach Dave Rennie plans to stop the player drain, show some love and tinker with the Giteau Law to best harness the talent at his disposal"
Riiiiight letting more players play for the Wallabies and overseas 100% will stop more Ozzies players going overseas, stop the drain. It might make the wallas stronger short term, but long term? Oz depth puddle like as it is, without more players in Japan!

The solution I've seen in print media is to outsource by having them play in New Zealand. They also want All Blacks to play in their teams...

You might want to quote what he actually said.
"My preference is we lure players back to Australia or promote from within," he says. "My concern with [relaxing] the law is that it's a slippery slope. Players are financially better off over there and if they can still play for their country then what's to stop them going in droves." "You have to be able to compare apples with apples and playing in France is very different. We have no influence over how they’re training or what they’re doing. They pick a lot of big men and while they have some excellent clubs it's very different training-wise. There's not a lot of time on the grass or emphasis around skill set and conditioning. We have minimal influence over those players while they're away." "Who knows what the future holds around Super Rugby but the question could be, what if there were Japanese clubs involved in the competition and if some of our top players were in Japan?"

Hmmm...I can't see anywhere in that quote he said he wants more overseas based Wallabies? Think you've made an assumption there based purely on the words "tinker with" haven't you?

Um? Right there, but yeah, headline doesn't really cover what he said "My preference is we lure players back to Australia or promote from within," he says. "My concern with [relaxing] the law is that it's a slippery slope. Players are financially better off over there and if they can still play for their country then what's to stop them going in droves"
My fault for looking at the headline, rolling my eyes, and posting it here. Apologies, carry on!

That is why you got nominated for best new ferner. You're a natural.
Oh but do away with the apology thing.
