He still portrays himself as a victim though and I guess that’s just his inherent self absorbed personality.
I wonder what happened to his ex mechanic? Can’t remember his name (Mike someone). Armstrong tried hard to completely ruin him and he had to run away from being top bike mechanic on the tour circuit to running a bike shop in Upper Hutt.
The shop didn’t last and he came across as having a chip on his shoulder, but still, he didn’t deserve what he copped for telling the truth when questioned by authorities. -
He's no sporting great, he is probably sport's greatest fraud.
I don't think so. He cheated, like everyone else, but that doesn't make him a fraud. For me, it'd be like Usain Bolt beign pinged for cheating - invalidates the records, but still freakish athletes and so driven to get to the place that the drugs put them into the record books.
So, assholes, lying, cheating, sport destroying monsters ... but not frauds.
-
I'll watch it; it'll be fascinating.
But he's a fluffybunny; a psychopathic cheating fluffybunny of the highest order.
He's no sporting great, he is probably sport's greatest fraud.
I guess that's why I'll watch it though.
Yeah - when you read about some of the shit he did to take down people who were telling the truth about him, Lance is a total asshole.
But, the story is compulsive viewing.

Its finishing in 40 minutes. Not on demand. Next viewing is tomorrow or Thursday? It's almost stone age
Not on demand, fucking killing me!!!!
Unacceptable in this era of netflix and Disney+

I'd expect it is. And will try and watch at some stage.
But one of the biggest fluffybunnies in the history of sport.
And am wondering if "of sport" is necessary in the above sentence.
Am continually astonished at how much respect he gets. Pretty much any is too much in my opinion.
And that cunty photo of him with "his" yellow jerseys sum him up.
Leadership?

Well it's difficult to argue that he didn't earn them. When he rode he wasn't the only one doping. Nor was it just his team.
It's possible to admire the drive and strength to accomplish what he did while acknowledging the repugnant aspects of his personality.

I can't bring myself to admire any part of the man

me too, he's just a scumbag. why should other people also doing the wrong thing be a justification for this piece of shit?
as for earning his wins: no he didn't. he broke the rules and was caught, so by definition he didn't actually win. how can you earn something that you haven't actually achieved? what he has earned is all the vitriol that comes his way. -

I've stopped watching a lot of the olympics, because I don't know who's clean and who's not any more. That said, there's always shades of grey (Smith/Warner+Sandpaper; NZ (and every other team) with sharpened bottle caps and other bits).
This is a few years old, but well worth a read. Comment on Usain Bolt that makes you really question his capability. It's a bit Lance like - to believe that he is suddenly got so much faster than everyone else who dope requires genuinely rose tinted glasses. It's sobering, but interesting.
