John Mitchell gets an awful lot of crap for a bloke that won two out of two Tri-Nations, won back the bledisloe (after how many years?) Coached a team that put 50 past Aus and SA away in consecutive weeks.

I'm not saying he was a great coach, but he's far from terrible. His assistant coaching results would point to that. John's problem appears to be his complete inability to get along with people when he is in charge.

I put those results more down to a red-hot, "un-seen" backline with one of the most exciting, skilful and unpredictable players in the world at that time in career-best form. Well, that and Deans

Donโ€™t forget they really just adopted Henryโ€™s Blues tactics ... in the semi they just forgot to tell the forwards to play their role.

They also forgot to tell the midfield to tackle

    I'll put this here

Analysis: The next generation All Black backline to unlock the Springboks with Super Rugby's latest trend

Analysis: The next generation All Black backline to unlock the Springboks with Super Rugby's latest trend

The All Blacks have no shortage of young backs to build such an attack, with the likes of Jordie Barrett and Braydon Ennor bringing ideal skills.

Good to see Jordie featuring heavily in the picture there. That should trigger a few posters.

I'm triggered by an article trying to predict confidently the players that will win a test tournament in 3 years using backline moves designed to beat Super rugby defenses in 2020. Because, as we all know, Super rugby definitely equals Test Rugby. And knockout games are often won by sexy backline moves.

    Really fucking solid stuff.

The analysis of the article is okay (backline patterns etc), but itโ€™s for the here and now. There are pretty pointless references to the next World Cup because itโ€™s so far off and thereโ€™s so alot of test rugby to get through (we hope!)

@mariner4life thought the analysis wasnt that great, the one where he says Goodhue didnt beat Kolbe and unload to an unmarked BB, looking at the pic, even if he did break the tackle from Kolbe, the SA 6 was there anyway, unless he is thinking having Jordie or Ennor there would have made Kolbe disappear?

Someone a little quicker may have helped.

@ACT-Crusader possibly, but that is assuming that quicker person has the sense to stand in the exact spot too, not a yard further in/back or whatever...

Yeah, Jordie absolutely tearing the Chiefs a new one earlier in the season doesn't really prove much. Happy to post highlights of that match if it helps to jog your memory.

If they are looking for a 13 with speed Rieko also comes into consideration if he can build on what he was starting to show at 13 pre-COVID.

The good thing about this NZ local Super comp 2020 is it will be like one big set of AB trial games for Foster & co.

Was that the one where he did that sweet pass to put Lam in the corner and then came up with the worst tackle of the season on Manu, then watched Stevenson jog past for a try? So a typical JB performance.

By tearing Chiefs a new one mean he kicked a few penalties from out in front? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Actually, it was a year ago. Sheesh, Super Rugby just all blurs into one game for me these days.

Looking at some of those results it seems there should have also been a question asking : Are you currently experiencing concussion symptoms?

Some people were really bored during the lockdown to come up with this stuff...
