From SMH.
Wiggs and World Cup-winning Wallaby Daniel Herbert would be the most qualified.
Wiggs runs private equity firm Archer Capital and is chair of Supercars after Archer >bought the business for a reported $180 million from SEL in 2011. It is now reportedly >worth about half its purchase price and is in the middle of difficult broadcast negotiations to renew its deal with Fox Sports and Ten.
Wiggs looks a good fit. Highlighted three sentences.

@Mick-Gold-Coast-QLD - glad to see her go due to her performance? or for the agitators to now have to front up and deal with the aftermath etc?

Bracing for an essay on "good rugby men"

Fuck. PERFECT for the Murdochracy.

So is Rennie going to be coach still? He threatened to quit recently.. or was that a tactic to soften a virus related pay cut?
He said it was because he only took the job after direct discussions with Castle around how things would run.
I wonder if he can get out? -

I wonder if he can get out?I wonder if he's already out. The place is fucking rudderless, with no CEO, no TV deal (as the Foxpuppets are so ready to exclaim), and in a few months, no Chairman.

That TV deal with Fox can’t be too far off now ....

With no CEO? Not sure what the deal is. But it can't be a huge cut in value because players get a mandated percentage and they'll blow up deluxe if there are serious cuts.

You’re no fun, I’ve got a conspiracy theory that this was all a Murdoch master plan to get the rights for cheaper (With fox sports dribbler Kearns as CEO) and keep Optus out of it.

I read that RA was close to a deal with Optus before covid-19 hit so it was bad timing for Castle.

I've also penned an open letter to the ARU today, emphasising some of the points made by our esteemed skippers:
I read it in the voice and cadence of John Clarke and it was superb!😀
Well written mate.
I somehow missed this earlier. Yep, a touch of editing and that's a top homage to Clarke.
Good work @barbarian -

Theory?

Agree. I hope Aust can sort things out and for that they need good leaders. And preferable an Aussie who once played rugby at some level.

I don't see how that has anything to do with being good at sports administration.
First up test for incoming CEO if it's Kearns or Farr-Jones; recognising the parlous financial state of RA, will you do the job for free?
