The Mrs and I both have birthdays close to Christmas so we agreed to get something big that we really wanted but wouldn't justify buying ourselves. Got her a laptop and she got me this which I had a crack on yesterday, more impressive than I could have imagined. VR with 6 degrees of freedom

@Machpants I don't notice it at all. I came from a Gear VR though and havent tried teathered systems outside of an arcade. Some clever bugger ported over the old Halflife and Quake games. Quite surreal being inside of a game I used to play on my PC years back. Still need a lot of work on my VR legs. 30 mins maximum is all I can handle for walking games.

We’re in our late 50s. Insurance companies assume we drive like nuns.
Edit: I’ve probably mentioned elsewhere that I’ve got one as well. I bought them together and got absolutely no discount at all - don’t ask me how I managed that. Anyway he got to choose which one he wanted and got the white one with red interior, mine is black on black. The actual Christmas present was the one the dealer’s girlfriend got I suspect.

Yeah well this year I may have got it wrong. I bought him a kamado. It’s here at my house and I’ve got no idea how I’m going to get it to his. In my head I’d just load it into the car and drive it round there. The reality is I can’t lift the bastard off the ground and the box is too big for the tailgate anyway. I’m close to the humiliation of asking him to come and pick up - in both senses - his own present.

Yeah well this year I may have got it wrong. I bought him a kamado. It’s here at my house and I’ve got no idea how I’m going to get it to his. In my head I’d just load it into the car and drive it round there. The reality is I can’t lift the bastard off the ground and the box is too big for the tailgate anyway. Those are frikking heavy mate. Would have been better to have it shipped to his house and hidden for the big day!!

@mariner4life I have some of these which I use at the gym on ambient mode, as I get nauseated without the outside sound. They work a treat. Would probably actually work with just one in too.

The Screen Door Effect is pretty noticeable but still fun - a good workout too!
