@NTA 2nd if you remove Gatland who aint an option either!

Not going to matter the next couple of years who you pick, I suppose it might as well be Razor.

Rennie seems like a good bloke. I hope he can deal with the political bullshit and deliver us some results.

I guess another factor is Rennie will see out his contract with Glasgow, NZR may not have been happy with that idea

I hope he improves it enough to regularly beat all the NH teams, have 50/50 with the Boks, lose every match to the ABs including a close fought RWC final.

OK I have changed my mind entirely

    Alama Iremeia
    supported by
    Filo Tiatia -forwards
    Jason O'halloran - attack
    Tana Umaga - defence
    Piri Weepu - Skills

    Christian Cullen - Selector

this Hurricanes Old Boys team serves a purpose of keeping Hammett well away from the ABs

Hansen and Fozzie clearly show that do as I say not as I do when it comes to food consumption is no barrier to coaching the ABs. Plus, with Piri there the props will have less opportunity to over indulge as he'll hog all the kai.

So the best coaching options are now going to be plotting the AB's downfall.

Yep, Australia, the Lions and Japan will have better Kiwi international coaches than the All Blacks. Total incompetence by the NZR Board.

If it's Foster, then Wales, England's defence and Georgia will have better Kiwi coaches too.

These are tough days. Keep the (Black) faith!

Can't see it being a good move for Rennie. I guess if you were going to pick someone to make it work it'd be him, but I just can't see him coming out of it looking good.

@mariner4life first PI heritage coach of a T1 nation as endorsed by Laban. That should cause a few haters around here.

I think it's a bad move Dave. Also, no one has coached the Wallabies and gone on to coach the ABs (at least in the professional era).

What could NZR have done differently? Replace Hansen in 2017?

Yes he was skated to go then but chose 2 more years. Def 2 more years too far. Foster could have had a crack from then, and we'd be in a better of position now. Does well after lions? Keep him. Does shit, everyone would know it and see the abs coaching opportunity coming

@Machpants but 2 years ago, Foster would likely have been the only option? Plus, under Tew, the contracting would likely have seen him sign 4 years with option to extend to 2023?

I think it would have been best for all, had Hansen followed Richie, Dan, Conrad, Maa, Mealamu et al in 2015...but hindsight and all
