This fight has just been bizarre from the start. First we had a postponement due to injury, then the controversy over the gloves and canvas, and now the result. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.

You have to admire Fury for backing up his bravado.

Did anyone on TSF come out and back Fury? He just shocked the world

Not me , but I think it's good for the sport and good for Joseph ( not that he is ready yet ) as the door opens a little more with klitchko career pretty much finished now

It's surprising but Wlad is getting old. Age had to catch up at some point, I just didn't think it would be this point. I would probably love to see Wilder vs Fury or Fury vs Joshua. Fury is quite choosy about who he fights.

How on earth did one of the judges get 116 to 111? Was a very close fight, but imho Fury didn't do enough to win it.

Wow didn't see that coming. Thought fury had no chance but yeah wlad is aging and his time was due soon.

Guess there is a rematch if he wants it?

Fury has a very weird way of boxing, I suspect that put Klitschko off, hard to box when the opponent is all over the place.

Edit: looks like he will take up the rematch option.

Yes, Fury also switched between orthodox and southpaw.

I didn't even realise the match was live on SS2 this morning. By all accounts it was a borefest - Fury averaged 7 punches landed per round, Klitschko averaged a little under 4.5 punches landed per round.

It would be good to see a unification fight with Wilder but boxers tend to avoid eachother.

And the boxing fraternity wonder why this MMA lark is becoming more popular. Whatever happened to stand and deliver?

Didn't see that coming. Also think Fury will be a flash in the pan, can't really see him becoming hanging on to his belts for long. Oh and what's the betting that David Haye suddenly comes out of retirement.

Personally hope Joshua proves to be the real deal - seems like a nice humble kid. Tyson can be funny but he does spout some shit, including his anti-gay stuff. Like a lot of "characters" he seems a bit of a cock.

Considering Fury's defensive MO is leading with his head I don't see a long career at the top, myself.

Dr Steel Hammer just got struck off. Klitschko has beaten guys a lot better than Fury in his time. To be fair he is 39 and now more interested in politics than boxing.

opens doors hopefully for JP

That was a horrible match but few good heavyweights bubbling under who will be biting at the bit after seeing Wlad era is over.

Its not over though and I half expect Wlad to win rematch then retire

Kevin Barry's comments on the news last night were interesting. He said that Klitschko's loss was good for the heavyweight division and Parker. He expects Fury to give up 2 of his belts. The reason for that would be to avoid having to fight mandatory challengers.
