South Africa poor but their scrum was enough to edge Wales.
Yes scrum was the difference in the end. 3 or 4 crucial PKs came from SA scrum.
Wales really had their chances to win.
Let's be honest, that was a dreadful game of rugby. Hard to see the Boks troubling England next week.

Had the result, not the winners.
Was never going to be a spectacle..
We were architects of our own demise.
And Garces and team were fucking atrocious.
We've learned nothing since losing to France in the 2011 SF.

Quite a difference in intentions here eh. Wales get a penalty and nudge it 25m, half heartedly have a go at a maul and then bail out with a shit drop goal attempt. Saffas nudge it 40m, fully commit to a driving maul and nail the points.
That was Wales to win with 5 minutes to go on SA's 22. Allt hey had to do was keep trucking it up in the forwards looking for a penalty. But no. Drop kick and give SA a way out.
Congrats SA. -

@Kirwan England were solid favourites at the TAB before this game.
Boks have a good coach and forward pack to blunt England’s strength. I’d put money on the Boks to win it.
Think England played their final against us.

Congrats SA.Yeah but just static ball too, even AWJ just standing 3m back from a ruck and taking a pass standing still then taking one step.

England favourites surely.
Nope, Boks can match England’s forwards.
Agreed. Boks forwards were seriously physical today. Simple game plan well executed.
NZ/Wales game will be interesting. Hansen won't want to go out on a double loss & Gatland would love to leave Wales having beaten NZ

Yeah, makes that game interesting. Another record for Hanson to lose?

@MiketheSnow Comiserations, chap. A game too far, and now I fear that next week's 3rd place playoff may not be pretty from a Welsh pov, but I'll be hoping that Wales sign off the Garland era in style whatever the result.

Comiserations Michael.
We feel your pain.
But just to make you feel better, in the grand traditions of TSF, and me ... Australia.
