Even though a close Scottish win was my preference, in the end I just thought "fuck it" and was cheering for Japan.

    Well done the Brave Blossoms.

Superb rugby from Japan. Just shows their win over us wasn't a once off....deserved group winners by a long way. I still reckon the boks will be too powerful for them.

While I am a big Tanaka fan, they need to leave Negare on as long as possible next weekend.

What a week this is going to be in Japan leading into the quarters

I’m not a betting man, but I’d wager that there might be a replay or two of a certain 2015 pool match

    Leitch all class.

    Geek seems almost happy!

South Africa are a great opponent for them... Unless SA decide to play expansively it'll be tight.

    How lucky are SA?

We have Ireland and if we win England/Australia.

They have japan then Wales or France.

Luckiest pricks ever. We are going to have to do it the hard way.

I think this might be Japan's high water mark. SA will be a bridge too far, but it has been an amazing ride

@akan004 Meh, not fussed. To be the best you gotta beat the best.

I don’t think we can underestimate this win by Japan.

An emotional week for the hosts with the Typhoon and the damage it has caused.

Uncertainty about the game going ahead.

A vocal opponent playing for their WC lives.

    They’ve never beaten Scotland ever.

Up against the team that knocked them over in 2015.

A lot of factors up against them.

That and what's a hard game for other sides is not necessarily a hard game for the ABs.

E.g. To be honest we'd put Japan away comfortably. Ireland wouldn't.

This might have been mentioned but the reserve props Valu and Nakajima were brilliant. That's the impact you want from your front row.

@Bones Pretty much. Styles make fights as they say in Boxing. I still expect Ireland to give us a bit of trouble next week. If we played Japan, then not so much.

They're pretenders. I don't expect them to bring much if anything.

I still won't be going down the club to watch. Far too many Irish.
